we all love you guernsey and i think its great that you are in the league and cant wait to you get promoted !! i think bedfont sports and feltham are both very good teams which i have seen play v hanworth villa and they will be a great test for you so i wouldn't be suprised if they beat you

The first highlights looked like opposing teams couldnt deal with the long ball game i think there was a few in each game i possibly believe its a bit like teams getting stuck in the lights lime bunny rabbits if youve never played in front of 1500 fans its going to be intimidating im expecting a rough ride as im near the touchline lol

The away teams have been intimidated by our crowd for sure ( especially keepers ! ) and most of them start arguing with each other after a couple of goals go in. Its probably the loud roar when we score that winds them up !. Our crowd is also getting more and more vocal as every game goes by.

Apart from Hartley who are also contenders they have smashed every team they have played.

 

No other team has done this,

 

They will have an off day at some point and too many key players missing so will wait and see

 

Personally i think its great they are in the league gives us something else to talk about instead of

 

Nice Guy vs Duncs

Villager vs Knaphill

WP always taking a promotion spot

Jonnos worldy

etc.....

 

 

Also given the CCL alot more coverage.

 

Cant see Spelthorne getting anything from their game

 

They have Westfield which on paper should be a test then prob Lammas away in October the next one after that.

 

Cant wait to play them!!!!

 

Like ive said before im glad there in the league. They have a great squad of players that play good football.

They have ambitious people behind them trying to get them up the football ladder. There a great bunch.

from what ive heard all visiting teams have been well looked after.

most of all it gives all the players in div 1 and poss the prem players the opportunity to play in front of a 1500 + crowd which will probably not happen again for most if not all of them.

 

I'm also very confident that no-one will take points from them on the island!

 

5-0 down at half time on the opening day i wanted to call my mum and get her to pick me up! They destroyed us.

 

Although, the longer it goes on the more teams want to be the 1st to beat them so will get harder and harder!

Why Do you say "Love you or hate you" from what i heard and read on these post and seen for myself first hand that other teams and staff have said Guernsey do everything to make visiting teams welcome and can't do enough for them.

 

Show me anyone here in the Mainland that would hate that ? I have watched Guernsey at Footes Lane and the experience was amazing,i no longer play but would of given anything to play in front of a crowd like that.

 

And just to clear up on a different post there was no Betting table just a Football form floating round with the odds for the game on.

 

I don;t see anyone beating Guernsey at Home CCL 1 or CCP or possibly Ryman (Personal Opinon since seeing them play)

But there will come a time that they will have injuries and players unable to travel and be playing a top 5 CCL 1 team and take a loss and it will happen, but looking at the schedule it will have to happen before the end of January.

 

Fair play Donkey you have a cracking skillful side that play the ball round with ease and know when to play it long. But i'm afraid it will come to an end against Bedfont Sports.

Oh dear was it not me who said on a previous post that the likes of Zico Black and Allen could play higher on the mainland but as usual got knocked back from a Guernsey forumite saying that won't happen..............wonder what would be said if the opportunity arrives ?

Bets were being taken, no pay outs at the ground though, had to collect from the shop.

I find it interesting that people continually criticise the Guernsey defence, even though it has conceded 3 goals in 8 games in the league, 2 of which were superb free kicks (equaliser in last minute for Hartney Whitney and Spence's strike for Eversley), in a team that plays very attacking football

TRS I recall that Guernsey defence looked very suspect centrally at the beginning of the season when viewing some goals they conceded on film.......some terrible defending against the long ball.....remember now ?
