Windsor 3-0 Oxford City Nomads

I thought we were actually bloody lucky. We hardly attacked their goal between the opening penalty and - well, our next goal, ~35 minutes later. Meanwhile Oxford were doing complicated things like, ooh, passing to another player on their side; or holding on to the ball, running, and *then* passing to another player on their side.

 

And then I thought "now there's a really useful concept, passing to someone in the same colour shirt".

Not that it lasted for long.

 

Weak points? mmmmmm yes.

 

I'm somewhat nonplussed at this.

 

Sure, The Nomads played the more cultured football and at times their passing and movement was a pleasure to watch but they were mostly doing it in the middle of the park; when they got near our goal our defenders did well, especially as the game wore on and the understanding between them all developed.

 

Ok we had a man advantage for more than half the game but we broke well and created far more goal scoring opportunities.

 

Weak points? Of course (it's non-league football after all) but it was better. Much better.

Saturday was much better.

 

What a difference it makes playing a forward up front rather then on the wing. Surprised its taken so long really, especially when we have struggled for goals in certain matches....Dorking especially.

 

Ryan Ashe is starting to look fitter and I thought Ellis had a good game.

 

Hopefully it continues and Yash isnt moved back out to no mans land when everyones fit.

 

- On a different note Beaconsfield are doing well under Byron, even above Slough and St Neots.

I finally updated my blog with some pretty pictures of your ground. Don't take any of the comments to heart, it's said with tongue in cheek and overall I had a really nice first visit to your ground.
