Message from Romboro:

Just to let folk know that Lightweight's wife Sam passed away in Queens Hospital this morning.

Sam was in her early forties and had been suffering from the increasingly weakening effects of MS for a number of years which resulted in her spending more and more time in hospital. She was rushed into hospital yesterday morning after the latest attack but sadly did not come through it this time as she had many times before.

Sad news.

As Hasbeen has said time to forget any rivalries, wind ups etc.

I only met Sam once very briefly but often spoke to her on Facebook or on the forums as she used to ask me about the birds in her garden (many of you would of seen her on here under the name Gawjus)

I know she had been ill for a long time and in and out of hospital. If you read this Lighty, really sorry mate and our condolences from Alice & myself.RIPxxxxx

Maybe we could hold a collection before the game tomorrow for a related charity??

Do whatever you think is fit mate. As far as the Boro is concerned our Chairman is going to have a chat with Lighters when the moment is right and our intention is to make a collection at a Boro home game in the near future towards a charity of his choice. We have decided to hold off confirming the actual date until we have had time to fully publicise it to give it the best chance of working as well as possible.

Incidentally we will also be holding a minute's silence for Sam at the same home game that we do the collection because she was (until it wasn't possible for her to continue any more) our club membership secretary. I will keep you posted as to what's going on by PM if you like!
