Guernsey Preparation.

I for one am not too sure the size of the publicy this has brought to all involved with the CCL but one should enjoy the fact of the media attention Guernsey bring.

 

Just like to touch on this point.

 

In today's Guernsey Press there was an article about Guernsey FC having a fairly large feature in this months FourFourTwo Magazine which has a circulation of 90,000 apparently. I haven't read it personally but it does mention the opening game against Knaphill at least.

Just on your point Smudge I think your find if you look back I always comment on our games win lose or draw. However this weekend I was up in Newcastle and not at the game hence no report

You need to be more careful with your trawling of posts on here Smudge (maybe put in a few more hours a day yeah). As NLN said (although he doesn't have to justify anything to anyone, let alone someone like you!), he was away last w/e and so couldn't comment on the game, but you will find that Henry (who played in the match) did.

Also if you bothered to look at our website you will find a decent match report on the game whcih is more than a fair reflection on the game in which we deserved nothing.

You really are a Grade A idiot at times mate. Happy to moan at others and the way they do things, yet if someone does the same to you, the toys are out the pram and it's all about you and how you won't post again etc etc (is that 4 times you have threatened to do that now??).

 

PS, yes that was a bite and one I was more than happy to have.

Smudgeyboy, get real ! Guernsey FC has brought more media publicity to the CCL than any other CCL club probably even more than AFC Wimbledon

well I've just arranged for my pick up Saturday morning at 05.45 to catch the "red eye" at 7.00am, same as our team and management will be on, heading for the away fixture at CB Hounslow.

 

Why are you so negative smudge?? this club is doing everything it can to be the best we can on and off the pitch. We don't yet have our own clubhouse and bar, we're working on it.

I hear the side I'm off to see don't have a grandstand, WILL I SLAG THEM FOR THIS?? NO,I'll wish them luckwith the new ground they are working on!!!

I've seen a couple of the Guernsey games over here of course. Good team want to play football rather than fight like some clubs and also have good fans and committee. Publicity for the league is minimal as it's all about them. I understand that whilst all clubs will be playing over Christmas and new year they are not. If correct, is that fair on the other clubs? and then why should this be? There away results change over home results, perhaps due to team availability. I.E at Eversley and the midweek fixture at Hartley. Why did they not join a Hampshire league and get direct flights into Southampton or even sussex closer to Gatwick. Sadley it's the grey suits at the CCL doing everything they can for them when they do nothing for the interests of their original members. When did anyone see a league rep at a div 1 game other than where Guernsey are playing?

In all honesty I don't think you can be further from the truth. He can be controversial,I admit, but then that stimulates conversation which, is the lifeblood of a forum. He often starts theads that people from all clubs comment on and that is what makes this forum the best in non league, in my opinion.He is positive about a lot of things Guersey related, but, although you may feel he is constantly sniping at your club he often makes comments about others that they may feel are unfair,he is certainly not singling out Guernsey. He is entitled to his opinion after all said and done.

p.s. I think he has been to an away game.

Good luck for the rest of the season, I hope to go/come out later in the season to sample your famed hospitality !!

I had a conversation with smudge in chat last night and for the moment I will give him the benefit of the doubt.

 

From my side I just want to watch football and share in the buzz that goes with it.
