Whats Happened to all the Amersham & Tokyngton bashers??

Doog is King - It's funny you should bring that up as if Pete the Greek owns a bicycle or is a member of the innovative Boris bike scheme he could have been at the Copthall Stadium in half an hour from where he lives

How long would it have taken PTG to have travelled to the ground on a pushbike?

About half that time, but not carrying his kit! All match officials these days seem to arrive with more luggage than if they were going on a fortnight's foreign holiday!

Why do I get the feeling that, if PTG had said that he was indeed going to catch the 221 from Turnpike Lane, Rhodes would have spent the next couple of days telling him that he was mad to do so, and that there are much better options..........

It’s interesting that Pete the Greek’s silence is deafening today. What I expect he did was catch the tube from Turnpike Lane or Manor House to Kings Cross and change onto the delay ridden Northern Line to Mill Hill East, possibly even getting off at Camden Town in a hope of picking up a rare Mill Hill East train quicker from the Charing Cross branch line. He would then still have to wait for a 221 bus outside Mill Hill East station to the Copthall Stadium so, like I said, if he does sheepishly admit to using that route on Saturday I’m sure he will be ridiculed.

There’s arguably no better bus route in London than the scenic ride on the 221 particularly after it gets past North Finchley and on towards Mill Hill East station, proceeding through the leafy Frith Lane, Lullington Garth and Sussex Ring:

Just for you Rhodes.

As I said earlier there were too many hot spots along the route of the 221 bus from Turnpike Lane Station to Chase Lodge Playing Fields.

This is the route I took;

Walk to Harringay Green Lanes Station (5 mins) where I took the Overground to Upper Holloway (5 mins).

Then the 17 bus to Archway Station (2 mins) before boarding the train to Finchley Central (8 mins) then changing platforms for one stop to Mill Hill East (3 mins).

Out of the station to catch the 221 to Chase Lodge Playing Fields (10 mins) before walking to the ground (10 mins).

With the waiting time it took about 50 mins.

I'll be surprised if you got from your home to the Copthall Stadium, taking that route, in 50 minutes, I'm at a total loss as to why you didn't just take the tube two stops to Bounds Green and then the 221 bus which would have taken you less than an hour and it would have been far less stressful

I dont give a flying fig on how you got to Copthall Stadium all I will say "It was good to see you on Saturday"

I enjoyed the pasta more than the game.

Not at all stressful.

Actually shaved 2 mins of my best time getting to the ground using this route.

We haven't even touched on Saturday's game have we, you're a bit of a jinx for Kentish Town when you Officiate such as when they played Cheshunt Reserves and Stony Stratford Town in 2007/2008 and they won the Championship that season

Jesus - get a life!!

What game did you go to Rhodes? That's a rhetorical question by the way - we all know the answer is "I didn't".

You didn't say how long you waited at Finchley Central for a Mill Hill East train, you can often take root there so you took a huge gamble of Barney Curley and JP Macmanus proportions in my opinion by going that way

Hmm? 2007/2008 you say.

Ah yes, I remember it well.

That would be the season I was appointed to the Challenge Trophy Final, possibly on the back of those performances at the Copthall Stadium.
