Good performance after a bit of a shaky start from Egham. We went a goal down on 7 minutes with a very unfortunate o.g. from Marcus Moody, who was trying to clear a free kick. We dug in, and when we got a clear cut chance on 78 minutes Dale Marvell took Brendan Matthew's flick from a Paul Borg drop kick and buried it. Merstham had late appeals for best dive of the afternoon turned down.

Badshot lea 0-1 Chertsey

 

Chertsey dominated and had chances in the 1st half but failed to score as we've been doing for fun recently.

 

2nd half and baggy lea changed formation and went a bit more defensive playing only 1 up top.

 

A scuffle and hand bags in the box ended with a player from each team being sent off and now playing 10v10.

 

Chertsey got the deserved winner with 10 mins to go.

Staines Lammas Reserves 5 v 2 Sheerwater reserves.

 

2-0 up in the first two minutes, but Sherwater played some decent stuff and our GK had to pull off some cracking saves.

 

Lots of youngsters playing who all performed well.

South kiburn 1 v 2 frimley

1st win of the season and we needed it

1 v 0 up at half time with a goal from ash daly played some good stuff on a very poor pitch dog poo all over it and in the dugout.

2nd half and we keeped the ball very well had two good shouts for pens turned away and then jordon giddings got a 2nd game over.

Kilburn got 1 in the last min but for a very strong side didn't put us under much presure all game.

Guernsey 5 Worcester Park 0

 

I think this was the best performance so far, Guernsey outplayed Worcester Park and fully deserved their win. Even more impressive was the fact that the home team played most of thte 2nd half with only 10 men after a number of injuries. Disappointing parts were the fact Worcester Park started to lose it and resorted to kicking people. Not helped by a very poor referre who unti the dying minutes looked like he had left his cards in the UK! Pulling a shirt and impeding a player is an automatcc yellow according the the laws of e game!

 

Are these officials assessed? If so I would thinknhe would score very low, worst official I have seen in the CCL.

Westfield 0-5 eversley,very one sided,8 would probably have been a fair reflection, eversley look very good,Westfield never turned up today

 

Couldn't agree more. We were dreadful today. Both teams were missing a few by all accounts yet one side rolled up their sleeves, worked hard, and had quality in and around the opposition box, the other looked like they felt sorry for themselves and rolled over. It was a complete embarrassment to be involved in.

 

I can only hope that next week, with a few players back, we give a decent account of ourselves and start a run in the vase. Today has to be a slight on our character more than anything and we need to man up.

 

Anyway, it's still an excellent start in the league and when we go to Frimley in 2 weeks I hope we get going again and move to 6 and 1, which would be a lot better than we hoped for.

2-1 up with my goal with only 15 to go....shocking, one of knaphills goal was pushed in with the players hand and we had a deffo penalty in the 1st half, fair result would of been a draw, devastated with the defeat but the Westfield result cheered me up....

I know I'm biased. But I do feel a draw would have been a fair result. It was a pen to us in the first half, and the last goal was punched in, but you did much better second half.

Poor game overall just never got going. Its hard to remember either keeper having a shot to save until the last 10 minutes. Referee was too quick to brandish the red cards. Chertsey looked stronger when it was 10 v 10 but just before they scored Badshot lea had the chance of the game when Marcus Cousins pulled his shot wide when it looked easier to score. Anyway good luck to Chertsey in the next round v Lewes.
