What are your clubs doing, if anything to promote non league day this Saturday.

Any extra incentives to entice more fans through the gates, are you advertising, in old media or new??

Playing away, otherwise would of made a big deal of it!!!

JOIN IN NON-LEAGUE DAY WITH THE KNAPPERS

If you have never been to a non-league match, September 3rd is the day to go......

sm_1314485377_0.jpg

Non-League Day is the brainchild of James Doe, a lifelong football fan, supporter of QPR and follower of Harrow Borough FC. In James' own words:

'With England playing on Friday 2nd September and the Premier League and Championship taking a week off, I urge all fans of the big clubs to get out and watch their local Non-League teams instead on Saturday 3rd September 2011!

Given the current financial climate, clubs outside the football league need all the support they can get, so your presence at a game will be genuinely appreciated. With tickets and refreshments at a fraction of the cost, so what's stopping you!'

Knaphill FC will be offering any-one FA Premiership or Football League championship club Season Ticket holder half price admission £2.50 (upon showing sias ticket) for the home match against Feltham FC on Saturday September 3rd at Redding Way.

Other Admissions charges are also reduced;

Adult £3 (normally £5)

Seniors (over 60) £2 (normally £4)

Under 16's FREE (normally £1)

Armed Forces card/Police Warrant card/Emergency Service ID FREE

Our award winning programme will also be FREE as normal (whilst stock lasts).

Hot and cold food & drinks will be available before, during and after the match. Colour TV's

in the clubhouse along with a pool table and darts board.

Confidence ay Wattsy! To be fair i think you may have your hands full chasing Luke Edgehill and the other wippets around the pitch rather then trying to get one over dom. I got a feeling Dom maybe looking to clean you out if you come up for a corner, the question is will you be brave enough to come up? What do you reckon Dom!

Well as always I'm sure Whitelaw would have a very valid explanation as to the reasons nothing has been done. Bear in mind it might not be possible if the teams who don't have a league fixture already have their reserves or ground share teams already scheduled on their pitch.

I am sure there is a valid explanation, but Dorking and Bookham who groundshare have not got a game, and as Bookham Reserves play at Chrystie Rec,thats 1 ground FREE.So one of 5 Teams could of played there.Or maybe all 6 clubs asked for a weekend off?

Not my job to do the Leagues work Nick, but they have had 2 weeks to put some fixtures together, since the F.A. Cup results were known. And with a bad winter projected, the loss of one Saturday, seems madness to me.

Where are you off to this weekend Smudge?

Think I will give NON LEAGUE DAY a miss, does make me laugh Clubs reducing prices at this Level, its cheap as chips already.Put against £500,000000,spent on Transfer Fees in the Premiership,we at this level are like King Canute.Hope the Officials are reducing their costs for the day,now that would be a COUP.

We considered trying to get a League game bought forward, and decided against. Friendly out of the question at short notice.

Meadowbank hosting Ladies Sunday afternoon, and a Charity Menmorial match in the evening, so a blessing in disguise, really !

This is a matter for the clubs in the Premier Division, as they are welcome to bring a match forward, as Cove and Mole Valley have done this Saturday.

Every aspect of fixtures is outlined to clubs prior to the start of the season along with the fixture list but on this occasion only the two mentioned were able to exercise the option of bringing a game forward

This is a small extract from the long spiel I send to Secretaries with the fixtures:

"Once again, any match can be brought forward if the opportunity arises and there is mutual agreement between the clubs concerned. This includes Bank Holiday matches. The only proviso is that any such request must be made in sufficient time to allow match officials to be organised."
