Curtis Robinson

As i am a big big fan of Curtis i am finding it increasingly frustrating that he is not in the starting 11.

I saw the match on Saturday when the defence was pulled all over the place by a very skillful side so it was not a shock when Curtis was called upon in the second half only for him to be played in a forward roll supporting Tom.

Far be it for me to question the manager but surely last seasons player of the year should warrant a first team place in a defensive position where for me he excells week in and week out.

I am interested to hear other fans thoughts !!

I know I'm going to be a huge minority here, but my view is that he isn't as good as people think. The fact that the team in the last few seasons have been so poor, he has stood out a bit. Also because he is a young local player I think fans are willing him to do well, as these have been in short supply in recent years.

Yes he is a good player and perhaps there is a place for him in the team, but it's unfair to put unnecessary pressure on him by suggesting he will sort out the defence.

Whose place would he take ? Centre backs - Pooley looks a quality player, really impressed with him. Cloke - experienced, captain (even though I haven't been too impressed this season so far ) or Left back - Hill - has the shirt wrapped up for a while I think. Also I remember when Butler was in Charge and Robinson was left back he was trying to get the left back from Ashford, Ricardo something ?? Obviously didn't fancy Robinson at left back much.

I suppose what I'm saying is that he is a good player, compared to the rubbish players of recent years he probably looked great to some but in a squad that now has better players, for me, doesn't stand out.

He's only come on as sub (once or maybe twice) for a short while (did okay too) so how can you judge that.

I understand what you are trying to say but he is a solid & consistent performer & can reach balls in the air (with his head),something that is vital in defence.

If I were to leave one out for him it would be Cloke who HASN'T been winning everything in the air either in defence or in attack. The skipper hasn't impressed me either.

may get a chance with Stubbs suspension. Moving Hill to midfield and Robinson to left back? Curtis certainly impressed when he came on at Hastings in an attacking midfield role. Is r

there any position he can't play!

Not sure about "can't", Joseba, but certainly a position he "shouldn't" - in my opinion.

He'll get his chance if he's patient and focussed. I just hope its in time to make a maximum impact on our season again.

Not one to dwell usually, but couldn't make the Hastings game, so going by the shower of s41t that turned out for the last hour against Lowestoft, he should be in the starting 11, albeit leftback, centreback, midfield or up front!!!

Hasn't he donned the gloves before when the keeper has gone off? (Calling Jeff Trice!!!)

He Should be at left back, Hill mid-field with Burchell on left , Cloake and Wilson on the bench and Stubbs at Maidstone (oops !)

I was told on Monday that Curtis' head isn't in the right place at the moment and that is part of the reason for him not playing. If this is the case I hope that he gets back on track as for me he is a must for the starting 11 & have been surprised to see him on the bench.

Iris Tea Hut you are right Curtis started out life as a Goalkeeper!

He should be playing all day long most consistant player last year which can be seen by the awards he won.

strange he is not playing his head cannot be that bad when he comes on and plays well.

I think maybe as he is a local lad it might work against him as he is not a signed player who maybe earns more?.

Would be in my starting 11 all day long at left back or centre half.
