H.Wintney v Frimley Bank Hols Mon

Recommended Posts

I also took in the Frimley v HW game on Monday and have to agree with Pele is God, the Frimley keeper and management should be ashamed, their behaviour and language was nothing less than disgraceful!!

I've been to almost every CCL ground over the past 2 years and I'm fully aware of what goes on and the abuse that match officials receive (some rightly deserved, but most the time needless and

uncalled for), but what I saw on Monday was the worst I've seen for many years. I do not know the Frimley Manager who i assume is Ant (????) and I'm sure he can be a nice guy, but his behaviour on Monday was shameful and I certainly won't be heading back over to Frimley in a hurry.

In terms if the football, HW were a class above and could have won by more in the end. I can see them challenging for promotion if they continue to play that kind of football week in and week out (easier said than done!!). As for Frimley......well based on this latest performance relegationj beckons I feel, which is a shame as they have always put together decent teams in the past, but this latest one seems to lack any real quality, spirit or discipline and that can only come from those in charge I'm afraid.

You can call me what ever you like but I don't come on here slagging people or clubs off

If that is the worst you have seen thats up to you.

Guernsey came to frimley on sat and had a lovely day out and a good drink you get upset at one game and you cant manage and your club is s**t.

I would love to live in your bubbled world

Sorry Big Ant Smelly!! you'll have to explain?

FYI I was standing in front of the clubhouse roughly in line with the penalty area everyone there could hear what the keeper said, as for the managment the whole place could hear them and you are right i don't know which was the no1 and no2 if i assumed wrongly i have to say sorry but i do know they both went for swearing at the officals not good in front of women and children.

Tommo i do not know GK's name!

Weeble my son and I enjoyed the game thanks i feel Hamptons league position to be false and their football will move them up poss a game between two mid table sides, only my opinion!

Thanks for that Pete .... I was the short tubby one with a tan on the Hampton bench....

Welcome back to the forum Weeble

Was you not on the hartney bench on Mon what did you think seeing as everyone got a view?

I wasn't going to comment, but as you have invited me I guess I should.

Firstly it was a shame about the scoreline, obviously delighted from a HW point of view, but as one of my old clubs that I have a lot of time for, it was not nice.

Can't comment on what your keeper said as I didn't hear it, but if what others have said is true, then that is a silly error on his part.

Regards to you being asked to leave the technical area, understand your frustrations but again it was silly. The referee had made himself clear how he would deal with dissent by dismissing your goalkeeper. You would not leave the referee alone and got punished accordingly. Everyone barks on about it, but it is true, a referee won't change their decision and goading them, or however you want to describe it, will lead them to cautioning/dismissing etc.

Neil was even more silly after you had already been removed, but knowing Neil, thats how he is and that will never change. I will say however that the referee did make a mistake in removing Neil as he was your designated injury specialist and he should have remained in the dug out.

Everyone needs to learn that there are things you can say to a referee and things you can't and hopefully you will learn that through this experience. By all means ask a question to the ref, but try and do it in the right way.

You'll see in my signature that I have been sent from the dug out before and I have been dismissed twice. I knew exactly what I was doing when I got sent from the touchline. What I said to the ref was correct, but formally a referee myself, I should have known better that I would get in trouble for saying it. I was fortunate that the referee did not report me.

Once of my red cards was for telling a referee to not cheat us and for the amount of football I have missed through injury, missing 35 days for a silly comment like that meant that I learned the hardway too.

The fines for management/coaching staff are a lot higher that what players get. Tyhe manager who I worked for at Frimley told a ref once that he was incompetent and got an £140 fine for his troubles. Is that money that people can afford to waste?

As for the language, you do use the F word a lot and in my opinion unnecessarily, but Redrup is correct in that you are not the only manager doing it, and you won't be the last and my opinion on the choice of language won't change.

T.C we have not had the rub of the green this season and I think the ref was poor and when you have the start we have had you think the hole world is against you but I will not be the first and will not be last to have a go at the ref this season.

Good lucky for season hope to give you a better game at the rec if I am still in the job

Problem is we are in the lowest non-league level possible and you get the referee's that are only good enough for that level. As much as decisions go against you that perhaps should not, back-chatting the officials will not help and this is a message to everyone, not just Ant and again I am not pretending to be a saint. You get off the referee's back and watch how the 50/50's start going your way.

I have no doubt you will still be in charge. Frimley have had 8 different managers in 8 years (excluding caretakers) and I am sure they want to break that trend.

I went to the HW V FG on Monday after watching Frimley play Guernsey on the Saturday and that game was played in good spirit

and both sides were very sporting. The difference on Monday was the way the ref handled the game.

The fact that he was 20 yards behind play and gave or did not give decisions because he was unable to run did not help matters.

A high foot into some ones face play on did'nt see it, a charge on the keeper that left the keeper on the floor play on i did'nt see it.

That's when the keeper lost his cool, as for every one losing there cool, no just trying to find out why you are allowed to smash a goal keeper in mid air and it's not a foul. The ref then brandished cards like a school teacher running up and putting the cards in the players face.

Very critical of the ref yes, did it change the outcome of the match no, HW were very good Frimley poor but seem to have two or three decent players that will improve as they play more games together.

Please do not have a go about my comments about the ref we must all be honest or these refs will go on making a mockery of the

game at this level. I gave up being a refere some years ago when i thought i was not fit enough to keep up with play, this ref should look at his performance and give up now

I was directly in line with the 18 yard line clubhouse side and did not hear a word of what the keeper said to the ref nor did I hear anything that was said by Frimley officials. Big Ant is a very good manager who I believe given the time will do a good job at Frimley. When he was manager at Bedfont Sports the teams and the tatics he imployed were very good. I know because when I was manager of Feltham they beat us 3-1 playing 3-4-3. Keep your head up Big Ant you will get there in the end.

yes the ref was poor but he must have passed the fitness test. unfortunately thats the guy you are stuck with for 90 minutes.

For Div 1, the referee would have most likely been a level 5. There is no fitness test requirement at this level.

The fitness test is only required at level 4 and above. Level 4 referees are on the Prem.

Our Manager at Staines Lammas would never get sent off for shouting at the ref. Lol!

Ant will be ok, he has to ride out these first couple of months, I think he is very brave to go to a club where he's not a local, once the squads settle down, Ant will get the best out of them and they will start to climb the table, of that I'm sure. We all get frustrated and the standard of referreeing is poor in this league and it is hard to bite your Tongue.

Hope it works out for you Ant and I am Sure it will mate.

I knew a few of the players at Bedfont Sports, Newby, Coombsey, Chisholm, Cookie, Williams, Hadley and me and Guv were able to bring in local players, such as Chris Baker, Paul Timba and Guv bought in Harrison. Sori, Emmons, Luke Craig, steve caultus.

Plus I only live three miles from the ground so I guess I was local. I wasn't digging at Ant, I know and like him very much.

Sorry The Fan, I think I know what you mean now, obviously I had local knowledge of players but I never went there to make friends, I got on with every person at the club and loved being there manager and was gutted when I left, I think the old school at the club did not except us as they have the Bamfords as they are what you call locals.

I think if your paying money then you do not need to be local, but if your not paying then I think it helps to have local Contacts which I had.

I knew it wasn't going to be easy but its turned out harder than I could if ever of thought but I am giving it a good go and things will turn round as guv said we had a very hard start.

I would have loved ti be more local as i could of got 5 uxbridge boys but Frimley is to far but there has been no local jobs for about 2 years and i need to go out abit
