Division One Cup - 2011/2012

Dirty Claret - Regarding tapping up, as far as I know Crawley took 4 players from AFC and not one 7 day approach in sight. Since then 3 more have been phoned and again no 7 day approaches. Looks like tapping up to me.

Oh yes and since our old 1st team coach has left, AFC are getting the ball down on the deck again.

Make no mistake though, he is a great fitness coach.

Tapping up - I assume you know the rules that a 7 day is not required if a club is prepared to release, as 2 came before the new manager and had played the previous 2 seasons for cgfc , then g capehorn decides to leave with manager , followed by a young reserve player who he plays with on a Sunday. Just found out cgfc are guilty of contacting Luke little from your res side which was admitted and only came from a recommendation through Sunday football , unknown to m.smith he was at afc . The fact is players talk to each other ,pro's and cons either way, but if this was to be used as a measure , we could also go into afc conduct at the end of last year and beginning of this , but we don't cry about it !

With respects to the football , as your chairman with his own words said smith got you up with regards the last 6 weeks of season, are u telling me that your fitness coach and third in control dictated football style ?

Problem with 7 dayers is that you are limited how many you can put in etc. People don't want to waste them for a player to then say no. i understand the reason they are supposedly there but they are pretty useless.

I wouldn't be surprised if every SSML club was guilty (technically) in some way of breaking the regulations this season.

Nf - you are absolutely right unfortunately the secretary at afc , although a good club man does not quite understand how players today talk and communicate in every form, one team gets success as afc have players want to go there , things don't quite work out they return, managers move players follow, also with this young players like Jamie warne ( who is a fantastic talent) can't get into the first team , who see's a coach from the club move on has seen us a a route to step up , why hold them back, problem is he has friends who want to copy him....players talk.

Like afc , Crawley have a big youth programme and some players good enough to play higher levels , so the same happens to us, currently , not including pro clubs , bigg town , , kempston town, arlesey , tring, bigg utd off the top of my head all have players Who have played in our youth and reserve and first team.

We would need to have a full time lawyer if every one of our players left to play higher , we cried about it and ran to the headmaster!

But 7 dayers need to be there.

Dirty Claret - Dont know if I am behind the times and I do not make these decisions on my own, but I spoke to Mark Smith over Jamie and he gave me his word, which I took as gospel, that if he was interested in any more players he would put in a 7 dayer and I was instructed to report Crawley. Dont tell me that he did not know Luke played for AFC, and has played for the 1st team and has been coached by Mark at training. I also gave Eddie prior warning of what the club was planning and gave him the chance to speak to me but had no reply.

We really do try to not to report clubs for illegal approaching, as we all know players talk but all we ask is clubs do the decent thing and contact us. I have managers whinging at me on what is going on.

Od's- We enter the area where you can only believe what you are told and that these are said with the same integrity that you hold yourself. So this is only something Mark knows the truth and can explain, and as you believe that he is lying , I do hope that you do question his word,

As a club Crawley knew that we could have passed off and denied all , and not get fined. So did Mark, but he had know problem in admitting that he had" unknowingly" called Luke , but we believe we should be as honest, so can't see any reason for Mark to lie, he/ we had nothing to gain.

just saying mate they are a good bunch like your selfs . and just want to get the ball down and play . we havn't played many teams like that . wait till you play crawley now ucl terry is there . propa newport tactics boot it up to forwards .

Ucl Terry, brilliant!! I did actually just laugh and send him a text calling him that. But when your centre halfs are not very comfortable on the ball and you have two big lumps up top, surely it pays to play more direct?

Would hardly call rob Odell and luke Lincoln lumps, Lee Hayward and newly signed vinny shrieves yes, need a little large duo when going direct! Lol.

What must piss them off his having a midfield that consist of Neil Pugh, Stuart strange , Gary capehorn and Mckenzie Tyne almost forgot Tom freeman, all love to pass.

The last 2 both being only 23years old are joined by the two best teen midfielders I've seen at this level lately, well I think Jamie warne is a teen, but the quickest White man I've seen, and a left foot delivery to die for , a great steal from afc, also Sam peveral made a debut 2 years ago at 16 has come through the ranks and has a great alround game two great feet and for a "boy" loves the dirty stuff. Better than older bruv who moved on to higher level a couple of years back, I can't see these two being in south mids long if they don't want to be.

Must agree though that the two new managers have gone a lot more direct , and have got us out of the [censored] we should not have been in, but with the team still consisting of the majority From last year which played a pretty good passing game we will offer an all round decent game. And with additions that I have are coming, we will be in a good position to offer better next year.
