Windsor 0 Dorking 1

Dissapointing defeat in the fact that we created chances but couldnt put them away, then get outstretched at the back to allow thier winner. Some of our general play at times is good though and sooner or later we will put these chances away, the only thing I found at fault was our fitness in some areas today.Dorking I thought were one of the better sides we have faced so far and play some good football themselves,Mark Banfry had to pull off two brilliant saves as well, esp the free-kick in the first half,or we could have lost by a few more.

We have a way to go yet and have to be patient I guess, nothing wrong with our play in general, just lacking fitness, esp defensively and lets hope Alex Jeffers recovers quickly from what appeared a groin strain when he came off as he certainly looks good to me.

Yep disappointing result today in a game where a draw would have been a fair result! Agree with chrismb in that i think theres someway to go with fitness levels. Mark Banfry made a couple of saves but to be fair Dorkings keeper made a few too! Thought we were very wasteful going forward today. We got into some good positions but then just picked the wrong options. The most worrying thing for me though is that we look really stretched at the back. Dorking seemed to find so much space around our area! Having said that its still early days and things will get better with one or two additions to the squad. Have to admit today was the first time i've purchased a programme and was quite impressed! Well done to the editor!

At the moment it all looks a bit too predictable and a bit too slow.

I think we are in need of a playmaker to stitch things together. (Will that be Joe Hatcher's role?)

I do feel a bit sorry for Ryan O'Toole - okay he's not the best at bringing others into play but he needs to form an understanding with someone up front and both strike partners got injured today.

He is our only flair player right now but (maybe it's his normal demeanour) it concerns me a little that he doesn't look like he's enjoying himself too much.

I think Joe Hatcher is a defender! We could do with a Bruce Wilson type player in midfield! The other thing i forgot to say was i heard a few people at the game with kids today complaining about the amount of swearing from the players. I must admit it seems to be getting worse! Come on lads theres really no need for it!!

As an Arsenal supporter, some of the comments above ... not putting chances away, stretched defensively, injuries, needing additions to the squad, play too predictable and too slow, needing a playmaker ... make remarkably familiar reading !!

But at least you didn't get humiliated like Arsenal did yesterday (I'm still shell-shocked !) and - as other posters have written - it's early days and I'm sure you'll come good.

Keep up all the good work - club and team - and keep the faith !

is it me or is there a CCL specific away kit? That's 3 teams to have come to Stag Meadow and worn blue and yellow. South Park and Camberley I can understand the need to change but why did Dorking have to change? Aren't their colours green and white hoops? Where is the clash there? Just as much as I don't understand why we wore the blue at Croydon instead of the red.

My bad. I saw Binfield Ascot that day as well so must have had Ascot on the Brain!!!

With regard to the kit. I thought red for home games and blue for away games so they get roughly the same amount of wear apart from obviously clashes. Otherwise the Blue kit would not get used alot.

'Away' kits were another invention of the money-making machine that is called the Premiership ie another way to make even more money by conning fans into buying home and away kits. Officially we have a 'Change' kit for when there's a colour clash but people refer to it as an away kit. Obviously this would mean more wear and tear on the red kit so as Humpty as correctly said we have almost adopted the away kit ritual so that both kits get the same amount of usage. Just another one of the old rituals that's bitten the dust as I personally think you should wear your proper colours at every opportunity - next thing wil be daylight and floodlight kits and before you laugh I remember Alf Coulton changing our socks from red to white so players could pick team-mates out without having to look up during floodlit games - think about it and you can see the sense!

Blue and Yellow is the CCL listed away kit for Dorking FC, (as per hand-book), which we normally carry with us to away games, unless it clashes with the home teams colours, in which case we will take our home kit of green and white hoops, white shorts after checking with the home team.

Secretary's always confirm colours, usually by e-mail, well before the match.

I hope this assists.

And there was me thinking that it was all down to Don Revie and Leeds in the 70s for playing all their away games in yellow. And you have very nicely given me an idea for future programme notes :D
