Back from Madeira to another win. 7 points out of 12. Can't be bad.

According to some it's a disaster, to others it's been entertaining so far!

Redbridge (0) 3 Gordon 52, 53, Trenkel 71

Enfield Town (1) 5 S.Blackburne 25(P), 47, Kendall 49, Kirby 75, Wallace 89.

Attendance 166

Another cracking game, but Enfield still insisted on making things as difficult for themselves as possible, even if it did lead to a hugely entertaining afternoon.

Another positive start saw early chances for Adam Wallace, and a good bring down and shot from Leon Osei was only stopped by Tommy Spillane. Vinnie Durrant managed to get into the danger area for Redbridge but to no effect. A scare for Enfield saw a good tackle from Dave Kendall deny Nathan Gordon, but it was Enfield who took the lead from the penalty spot. Dan Trenkel fouled Stuart Blackburne who converted the spot kick. Enfield continued to push forward, Wallace causing problems down the left Blackburne came close to a second before the break heading Osei’s cross over the bar.

In need of a second goal to make the lead secure, Enfield got the dream start to the second half. Or so they thought. With the half barely started, Blackburne curled a shot casually past James May for the second goal. With Redbridge reeling, Dave Kendall seemed to have dealt the killer blow scoring from Osei’s corner moments later. When a header goalwards was only partially cleared by the Enfield defence, Gordon swept the loose ball passed Rob Blackburne for a lifeline for Redbridge. It was game on seconds later when a mix up between McKay and Blackburne allowed Gordon to nip in and slot the through Blackburne’s legs. Wallace and Blackburne combined repeatedly but were unable to find the target. Then Blackburne squared to Osei who was denied twice, William Sendall clearing off the line.

Redbridge scored next. A long throw from the left was turned back across the goal by Gordon and Dan Trenkel’s diving header found the net. Having thrown away a three goal lead, Enfield set about restoring their advantage. Mark Kirby swept a shot past May from a corner and Stuart Blackburne squandered the easiest chance for a hatrick he will ever get, hitting over from a yard out. It finally got more comfortable for Enfield with a fifth goal thundered over the line by Wallace after Kirby had twice been denied and Dave Kendall shot was blocked.

Redbridge still had chances to score even at this late stage and Ben Bradbury and Kieran Bishop could have done better, but this time Enfield saw the game out.
