I've just got back from Spain had a lovely time weather was great, food superb, late nights and lots of drinking I think I put on a stone in a week couldn't ask for anything better oh and then I got the sack from Cove, after 4 years and loads of good times the club have decided to give the job to DT10, well good luck mate I hope you get more than 4 games to get Cove to a league winning position,I'm now a member of the Nice Guy club and nobody wants me either.

Duncs

you have plenty of heart for Cove mate and you know deep down that unless any manager at Cove either has a great budget or amazing contacts in the world of non league footy, I'm afraid he is fighting a losing battle. Cove have had the good times recently with your self and Koo at the helm and to be honest, the club could probably do with a new face pulling the strings.

You didnt want the job to begin with and probably felt you owed it to Cove to stick with them after Koo left but I think you will agree that DT10 has the contacts and more importantly, the commitment it will take to keep Cove where they have been for 6 years now.

As you know, I was given first refusal for the Cove job and found it really hard to say no but felt deep down that Cove needed a manager with good contacts and with a bit more experience than myself. I could have been foolish and accepted the job, but it wasnt right for me time wise, and more importantly not right for Cove. Hopefully 1 day I will get the chance again.

Enjoy your time out mate. You have given Cove 6 good years with mostly ups and very few downs and even 3 cup finals and 2 cup wins.

I must also thank you for bringing me to Cove when I was searching for a club after leaving Ash Utd. If it weren't for you, I may have never scored that Cup final worldy.

See you at a game mate.

Cheers Steve, this was a strange set of circumstances, after the club had pleaded with myself and Simon to stay at the club and help rebuild it,we both said we would help out pre-season but that was all, after the mass exodus of players to other clubs it was always going to be a long hard season, but whilst on holiday they in thier wisdom decided after 4 games thats enough and bought in the new lad, well good luck to him as i've said but we were not far away from a half decent team, still we'll never know now as they will probably not get a chance to prove it

Hmmm interesting! I know Tony Davis left Knaphill the day my transfer went through and heard he went back to Sheers. Guess that's who Loop's on about

Not me I hope, lol

I really think the whole non league scene for players, fans and management, needs a massive overhaul. It's still very closed and behind closed doors, and lacks transparency. Given a lot of people do a lot of hard work for little or no money, the lack of respect and understanding for that is a disgrace, and indicative of the failure of British culture.

Rant over

I guess all will be revealed when the rumour about the two Westfield players moving on will be ;) Just what I've heard through the powers of Facebook, but time will tell like you said.

It's almost as exciting as Sky Sports News labelling tomorrow between 6am-Midnight as 'High definition deadline day'
