Frimley Green v Guernsey

I thought i would go to the Frimley Green v Guernsey game today to see what all the hype was about Guernsey, and i left being very impressed.

 

Could and should of been double figures, missed pen , 2 goalline clearence's and a 5-0 scoreline that didn't flatter.

 

I have read a lot of post in this forum suggesting that Guernsey will not travel to well when the winter months come upon us.

 

They certainly had no problems today and yes granted the oppo was not top class but they played with a swagger about them and looked classy in the way they played the ball round ( Zico - Black) and with a prolific scorer like Ross Allen they have a capable team.

 

Who is to say they will go on and win this League but i was left feeling they will be a force to be reckoned with.

 

This is my personal opinon, so people give them a chance to show us what they can do.

Most of us Guernsey supporters just want to follow our team with pride, yes we want to win the league (who doesn't?) but do we think we have a diivine right to?? ...No Way!

We want to watch good football, meet new fans and new teams and earn our place at the end of the season, wherever that is.

 

We want to follow football, at home in our hundreds and away as and when we can, online, or with our expats representing us.

 

We want to make a good impression by being friendly and fun, to arrive in a sea of green and white and have a pint and a laugh with you.

 

In return, away supporters will find a warm welcome at Footes Lane and a crowd of 1000+ to join with, and for away teams to get a big game feel.

We shall see what our level is when we find it. Could be CCL1, Prem or higher. Who knows. But at least some of us will enjoy finding out.

Smudge, next time you come to watch Guernsey F C play, please could you make yourself known to Mark Le Tissier or Steve Dewsnip as I know they are very keen to have a chat with you. I know they are trying to learn about the standard of the football pyramid and you have clealy demonstrated that you are the one they need to speak to.

 

As for me, I am really enjoying watching the football and proud of Guernsey's performances both on and off the pitch, they have been great ambasadeurs for Guernsey, well done lads.

Thanks for the nice message. I think saying that we won't travel we is complete and utter b******s as our recent 4-0 and 5-0 results away show.
