Player pledge fund

I know the season has already started but I was thinking of starting a supporters pledge fund. The Fans Forum has collected money for the club in the past, mostly in the guise of shirt sponsorship. The pledge fund is another way for supporters to make a contribution to the club, but the money is paid gradually over the season. The scheme works by supporters pledging money for anything they like, and there are no limits to how many pledges you would like to make.

 

For instance you could pledge £1.00 for every goal a single player scores. If someone had sponsored Shaun Welford last season it would have cost him £12.00 over the season. If someone else had sponsored all the goals the team scored last season in the league it would have cost £51.00. As this is done over the season I could collect the money every couple of weeks making payment easier or you could pay one lump sum at the end of the season. However you can pledge as much or as little as you like, say 10p per goal over a season, not a lot but every penny counts.

 

I would like the money to go specifically to the playing fund to help pay for the playing staff.

 

As a start I am willing to pledge the following.

 

£1.00 per goal scored in League and cup games

£5.00 for each round of the FA Cup or Trophy that we win

£20.00 if we reach the First round proper of the FA Cup

£20.00 if Margate get into the play-offs

£50.00 if Margate are promoted

 

Therefore my contribution so far is £4.00.

 

I will update everybody on a regular basis and will let people know when I will be at matches if you want to pay. I will also give you a running total of money paid and money pledged.
