Cambridgeshire County FA Invitation Cup - 2011/2012

Recommended Posts

I am not knocking Royston Town, I have some very fond memories of the club and their personnel from my days in the SSML (1986-2000). In fact Garden Walk was the first ground I visited when I first became involved with Welwyn Garden City, a Herts Charity Shield game back on the 9th August 1986.

I was simply stating that as the SSML has no clubs in Cambridgeshire and as the parent county for Royston is the Herts FA we would never have been aware of this competition had you not trawled through every possible competition under the sun to post about.

Aren't we trying to provide a service though for everyone connected with the SSML as well as other Non- League enthusiasts and so called groundhoppers, surely the more information we can supply the better using the Forum as a vehicle.

Why do you insist on using this phrase? Why are we "so called?"

Because you don't actually hop to the grounds...

Perhaps we can rename them, ground kangaroos, ground rabbits or ground bunnies

Sjj2112 - I didn't realise that you classed yourself as a Groundhopper, I thought you would have been too embarrassed

Sjj2112 - Well you're a grown man in your mid to late forties, isn't it a bit of a silly term for a football enthusiast who travels the Country watching football, where did the word groundhopper originate from anyway, do you know

Train spotter, twitcher, slotter, groundhopper - all predominately adult subscribed hobbies with accepted nicknames, yours being "gimp" - which ones should feel most embarrassed eh Rhodesy?

So you are not going to answer a direct question then?

If you make a statement on a forum then you should be able to back it up if questioned about it. Well that's how everybody else uses forums - you deem yourself above these social niceties. Pr1ck.

Krafty - Yes, I had better make sure to carry on buying my lottery tickets, do you think Craig Hammond will return to Garden Walk, Prodigal Son style, for the tie

I wonder whether Royston will meet Cambridge City later in the competition either at Milton Road or Garden Walk

You had better make a note of this date Rhodes

Royston Town v Cambridge City being played Tuesday 24th January
