I did chuckle when the PA announced the 4th official was from the other island and got some panto booing.

 

Saturday was also the first time I saw the away team applsund the home fans, great to see mutual respect.

Call yourself football fans!

 

You may start to get a little bored as the season wears on, if every home game becomes a formality. I remember in the second season at AFCW we had a season record of P46, W42, D4, L0 routinely sticking 6 or 7 past teams at home. It did get boring towards the end of the season, knowing that even if the away team took a surprise lead they'd concede several particularly towards the end of the game when they tired.

 

I fear you may not get real challenges at home until you get to Ryman Premier status (or equivalent). I doubt you'll still be applauding the away subs by then though. Think Worcester Park and times by four or five :)

I dont know whether you have seen them play or not, but they are definitely not Ryman Prem status(or equivalent).

Charlie F I think you are referring to Guernsey, and if so I totally agree. This "we are Ryman standard" nonsense has to stop. The current squad is strong, and from what I have seen and heard will do reasonably well in the CCL Prem, but let's not get carried away just yet.

Good to see you back posting there Smudge. Some strange comments about Crown and Anchor, it's the lifeblood of the locals here mate. That and tattoo parlours. You should definitely come across for a game, foot passenger rates are very good on Condor !

I laughed at that as well !

 

I have seen some great humor from our crowd so far my fav's being -

 

The booing of the Jersey 4th official !

 

The chants of who are ya ! on the opening day of the season at half time when the Knaphill players were going down the tunnel ! ( they took it in good spirit as many of them were laughing ! fair play to them )

 

Me shouting at the ref "have you left your cards at home !" in our last home game. Because half the Worcester team should have been booked but not even 1 yellow ! Also in this game one of our players should have been booked at the end of the match and the ref talked to him. Someone else shouted "ask him if he's got his cards on him !" lol !

 

I have seen more than 1 teams players applaud the home fans and also some officials. Which is nice to see.

Yes it was me lol ! I have a season ticket in the back row I sit by my dad.
