1640 turned out for the Guernsey FC game. Considering there were several big sporting and other events also on, this was over the number anticipated.

 

Oh how I wish I was playing in front of +1600 spectators again.......I recall it must be fantastic for the players to entice the atmoshere this generates............. you Div. 1 players (and management) are lucky so enjoy and take in the moment 'cos I doubt it will ever happen again......... ?

I hope all the visitors understand that without each and everyone of them we'd not have this competition so we ARE also clapping them, not just our team.

A ludicrous post Trebor,as though any sane man,would back against Guernsey.Figures speak for themselves,the only time to bet against Guernsey is when they visit England for a night game,played 2 lost 1,drew 1.Is it legal for a Footballer to bet in a match he is involved in,even at C.C.L. Level.

I imagine it's legal if they are backing themselves as they would be trying to win the game anyway, if they backed themselves to lose on the other hand, a whole different matter.

It's against FA rules to bet on a game any player / manager / coach is involved in or has direct influence over at any level. Players face fines and suspensions from all football for doing it. The last incident I'm aware of resulted in three step 3 players getting banned for 6 months, 8 months and 9 months as well as hundreds of pounds of fines. League 2 players get fines in the thousands.

Can I suggest the last few posts are deleted?

I'd also suggest Guernsey FC do the decent thing and remind the bookies that they shouldn't be taking bets from visiting players and officials for the match they're about to play in. I doubt the bookies have any morals but if you threaten to revoke their permission for being there if they're found accepting bets it should do the trick otherwise you may find yourselves getting into the papers for all the wrong reasons

Why Guernsey posters only post the truth,Guernsey having Bookmakers using just a Table outside a ground,is probably illegal as well,and more so encouraging people to gamble is disgusting.Now a Beer tent would help.ALL BETS WILL BE REFUNDED OF COURSE.

Edit - This is just what i was told, perhaps the bookie was making it up to encourage more punters to back them.

I'm thinking of taking my wife with me when we travel. Is it illegal for her to bet on either team?

 

You know how to read between the lines JJ, I did say either side. Wonder if they do in play betting, next goalscorer etc.

 

can i bet that when she gets there she bets against you??
