I've known Peter, (Smudgie), for a couple of seasons, since when members of his family had played for Dorking.

 

He still turns up at Meadowbank on occasions, and is always welcome.

 

For the new Guernsey posters who don't know him, he is of senior years, like myself. And like myself, he speaks his mind, saying it like he sees it. And also like myself, some of what he says is 'tongue-in-cheek', throw-away comments.

 

It's always a great pleasure to have a pint with him.

Smudgeyboy sling your hook, all you do is stir up trouble, get people to hate you, you know nothing about local football, you love Croydon and don't deny it, you love collecting their balls, drink their tea and beer.

 

You are a pain in the rectum, you whind up people, cause trouble for Ian our moderator, Bommie's left 'cos of you, you're a sh*t-stirrer, you hate Guernsey folk, you write trollope on this site when your pissed at 2am ! NG you no what they say about people who are overly horrible to someone it, often means they have a soft spot and feelings for them. Whoops NG is there something you should be telling us lol.

 

At least your admitting that you want smudgeyboy around its a step closer to the truth i suppose ;)

I have read alot of post from smudge with great inerest and i can say quite happily i'am a neutral, this guy seems to have a beef with Guernsey or any one who has contact with them.

 

I lived in Jersey for a while and doubt he knows what a crapaud is ( he may prove me wrong). I'm not a lover of Guernsey being from the other isle but they have given this League a go and from what i can tell the players and staff are all down to earth and seem very nice people as other clubs have stated.

 

Yes there website forum have a couple of posters who are getting ahead of them selves but imagine they have just got caught up in the novalty of it all but nothing that tells me they are big headed or anything of that nature.

Great post and I agree with all you have said. We are getting ahead of ourselves a bit but I still believe we will win this league comfortably.

Good to see you back, although I don't follow any CCL side I have enjoyed reading many of the forum postings, it is the most popular forum on here and some interesting discussions. My own opinion is that I have always regarded you to be fair in your role as moderator.

Maisiecat were guernsey that good or wp that poor? All due respect but seeing as they were league champs last year guernsey must think this could be a stroll in the park now!?

We were pretty good today to be fair. Looked quicker, fitter and more composed on the ball up and down the park. I was disappointed by WP. Expected more from them. Didnt present a threat and in the end were lucky to have 11 on the pitch. Unlike us who had to play 25 minutes with 10 men as one of our subs did a knee.

 

We scored some good goals and hit the bar, had another cleared off the line and could easily have another 2 or 3. WP probably deserved 1. Given that I think were 3 or 4 short of what is supposed to be our best XI on paper I am more than happy.

 

The crowd was great too. Gave WP and the ref some stick, cheered loudly and turned out in big numbers. Given there was so much going on this weekend the crowd was excellent.

Weve playd wp and there not the same team theres a cm missing who i thought was head an shoulders above a big cf who puts himself about an a cb missing i think as they seemed at 6's an7's on set pieces when we played them

well, being new to this league, all I can say is they were not as good as we'd anticipated on last season's result, so hearing others say the same is good.

 

It was nice to see some of the WP players also applaud the crowd as they left the field at the end. The atmosphere gets better every game and I hope all the visitors understand that without each and everyone of them we'd not have this competition so we ARE also clapping them, not just our team.

 

Loving it!!!
