I think it's just the excitement of a decent start to this dvision.

 

We are still in the novelty period and those that are posting are doing so without thinking too much.

Worth a read on the Green Lions Forum,the locals are getting itchy feet,after only 4 games.Has your Club got plans for the Blue Square Premier,I wonder?

Yes we do have 'grandiose plans' as you put it. We don't expect to stay around in the CCL for long.

 

Its just fact. Any Guernsey fans saying otherwise are just being polite. I'm just being honest.

Nothing wrong with ambition but do you think you'll get out of the Premier Division first time?

I'm not trying to patronise you but you are aware there's only one promotion place from the Premier Division? That's the same across all step 5 leagues.

There are a lot of decent sides fighting for that one place this season, there'll be a lot fighting for it next season as well. It took AFC Wimbledon two years to get out of it and, as we all know, Guernsey aren't the new AFC Dons.

Step 5 is the hardest division to win promotion from...FACT.... Just due to the fact you must win it and for Guensey much more midweek games, plus you'll be in the vase next season.

Promotion from step 6 this season will be pretty much a formality.

Glad you said that Gsy Spurs,it is like judging the use of a Message Board by certain posters.I have extrapolated popular opinion on this Forum,and believe it or not,the vast majority want me to post.Hence my return,so I will not be giving it a rest.I am after all just relaying other peoples plans for the future.Andy Ollenshaw's post on Guernsey's first game against Knaphill is quite revealing in many ways,but being a computer novice I cant upload it.

I have read alot of post from smudge with great inerest and i can say quite happily i'am a neutral, this guy seems to have a beef with Guernsey or any one who has contact with them.

 

I lived in Jersey for a while and doubt he knows what a crapaud is ( he may prove me wrong). I'm not a lover of Guernsey being from the other isle but they have given this League a go and from what i can tell the players and staff are all down to earth and seem very nice people as other clubs have stated.

 

Yes there website forum have a couple of posters who are getting ahead of them selves but imagine they have just got caught up in the novalty of it all but nothing that tells me they are big headed or anything of that nature.

 

Smudge staes that he is posting because other people want him to..........i haven;t seen anything that says that quite the oppersite.

First of all welcome to the site VRFC.

 

I've not commented on the Smudge bashing that has taken place in the last month, but the comment other people want him to post relates to myself. I've spoken to Smudge in the chat rooms and he said he wasn't posting because people had put in complaints. I urged him to keep posting (and im sure im not the only one) as he is and was good for the forum, yes he is OTT sometimes but with that he brings life to the forum. As a lot of people can vouch for he has done alot for this site, including helping in the charity games. I liken Smudge to Marmite and i for one like Marmite.

 

P.S If you ever meet Smudge (Peter) you will find he's just a Old boy who loves his footy ;)

VRFC71,first post knocking the Smudge,not a good start me old mate,you lot are so easy to wind up.Crapaud a toad,inhabits Jersey,in fact they walk not hop.Interesting that 71 at the end of VRFC,your not tripsters twin are you,he made out he was a Neutral as well,but Smudge proved otherwise.Be interesting to get your take on INEREST,NOVALTY,STAES,OPPERSITE,Still never mind back to School on Monday.As teacher would say in report MUST IMPROVE.

Here Here!! Keep posting Smudgy old boy, your comments and threads are wot makes this forum interesting and topical. Sure, you can be contraversal and probably rub a few up the wrong way, but you make a lot of valid points and generally you are supportive to clubs and people who generally deserve it.
