Archaeological work

If this takes much longer they might find the foundations of an old stadium that was pulled down a few years ago and declare it a valuable historic site.

AS per cookie-i always thought the 'third' tick related to the signing of the leases(not to mention the fourth tickbeing to find an additional £2m.

Would be good to get an update re: lease position.

Archaelogical work-(again) .I mustt have missed something hereas did not see that one coming.

I thought the archaelogical work, tree survey stuff, find a lesser spotted earthworm, and all the other ancilliary stuff was completed about 4 ears ago.

I stick by my original prediction of a January 3rd build start

My understanding from the recent forum, held at the Hartsdown, was that there remain 3 key areas to which boxes needed to be ticked

  1. Planning
  2. Leases
  3. Additional Funding

The news that further archaeological works are programmed to commence shortly can only mean that some of the archaeological works required to meet the orginal planning condition remain unfinished, and this is now being addresed prior to commencement of the main works.

My understanding also is that both planning permission and addtional funding have been secured

The archaeological work was mentioned in the council report that went to the planning committee the other month, so it is nothing unexpected.

(3) No development shall take place until the applicant, or their agents or successors in title, has secured the implementation of:

i. archaeological field evaluation works in accordance with a specification and written timetable which has been submitted to and approved in writing by the Local Planning Authority; and

ii. following on from the evaluation, any safeguarding measures to ensure preservation in situ of important archaeological remains and/or further archaeological investigation and recording in accordance with a specification and timetable which has been submitted to and approved in writing by the Local Planning Authority.

I agree with your synopsis smoker.

i am particularly interested in your last five words.

Appreciating that you may not wish to name names on here-is your 'understanding' based on clear fact, hearsay or guess work ?

If it absolute irrefutable fact based;then i'l drink to that .

Perhaps you could confirm ?
