Molesey V Windsor

Quite an eventful evening in the end.To be honest,I thought Ryan O'Toole was the only difference between the two sides.Molesey had the better of the chances, but just couldnt score or this would have been a higher scoring match, not helped at all by a referee who saw fit to send off 3 players and book another 6 for what was hardly a physical game.Good to get our first win under our belts and hopefully push on from here, yet we do,and understandably, look inexprienced at times. An example being that with a 1-4 lead away from home, surely it is better to keep possesion of the ball more, yet we allowed Molesey back into this when we really shoud have put this to bed so to speak.

Molesey on the other hand were better than when I saw them against Egham and never gave up at all ,had the right ethic of if you are 1-4 down ,just keep attacking as what do you have to lose and it worked for them,we just have to learn from teams that will do this.

Coming together more for us,think defensively we look out of shape, but we have a great finisher in Ryan !!

Fair assessment Chrismb ! I have just read the comments made on the Dorking game thread and have to agree, fitness is an issue with Windsor especially at the back, and noticed how slow your back 4 are.

I watched this game against Molesey and altho' in fairness O'Toole took all his chances, there wasn't much else on show to be honest, maybe having a bit of possession after Molesey equalised.

To me is O'Toole or nothing, thats why I presume Jeffers was nabbed.

Molesey looked far more fitter, and as you have already mentioned Chrismb, being honest, had Molesey taken their chances it would have been a different game. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the match which was a bit spoilt by the officials who didn't have that bad a match but were finicky.

Maybe your management and the supporters are a bit surprised how good at times this CCL Premier can be, that is why there will no doubt be more signings on the way, probably in defence which seems a priority in my opinion.

Things haven't started too well for The Stags but there's a long way to go yet, but a word of warning. With only 1 club getting promotion, it's alot harder than you think 'cos you cannot afford to lose too many games to be Champions!

Will be watching more Windsor games thru' the season, so I can see how much/if you have improved.

And now Jeffers is injured.

I'm assuming / hoping that Joe Hatcher will step in at right back now that he has served his suspension.

I have only been supporting Windsor (and non-league football) for 3 years and I have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the football so far. Definitely better than the Southern Div 1 imo.

Granted some players in this division are good footballers, but the ccl is not a patch on the s+w1. the sides at the top of the s+w1 are more physical, better on the ball, fitter, and generally more organised. even the mid-table sides could upset sides from the premier in the cup, but i don't think any of the sides we've seen so far this season are capable of that! the hellenic is the more footballing league at this level, and ive seen little from this season to change my views on that.

i totally agree with the earlier comments about it being O'Toole or nothing, and i find that quite concerning as we are now into september and almost a month into the season.

it is no surprise about how difficult it is to win at this level and i cant help but feel that Scott has not fully done his homework! Although it was nice to actually see a left winger playing left wing on saturday at dorking, that makes a change!

To be honest,I did'nt think for one moment that we would get promotion this season. Its very unusual and a hard task for any newly formed team, especially one like ours which has only been together since the midle of July,to acheive that.I would say it would take until mid- October at least to get near to where we want to be.

Our management team have done very well so far and are not finished on the rebuilding side of things.I would say this season is very much about finding our feet in this league, then push on from there.

Maybe the games against Bracknell feature too strongly in my memory!

What homework would you like Scott to have done? He has pulled together a decent squad in quick time and that cannot have been easy when there is little money on offrer.

I'm not too fussed about where we finish this season. Developing the club and its future income streams is far more important than league position.

We must not forget what has been achieved over the last 6 months and Scott is very much a part of all that. We have a team to watch at Stag Meadow - for now that's good enough for me.

Good to see that some still have a sense of realism.

It's been said time and again that we're not Windsor & Eton any more and therefore not a Southern League Premier side but clubs will still raise their game against us because that's what they believe they are playing - we have to live with that and accept the challenge.

Rother, Sparksy and the Windsor crew. Please believe me, Windsor have a very good player management budget, proabaly the the best in the league with competation from Camberley and Badshot Lea.! I know for a fact what some of the players are earning 3 figured amounts, and do you honestly think O'Toole comes cheap ? Thats being realistic !

Did someone from the Windsor board say at the beginning of the season, that there was little or no money for the players and management budget... mmmmnnnnnn fibber ?

Oh by the way I was right, was talking with someone this morning and rumour has it that Scott has signed another 1-2 players which all will be revealed this weekend if Windsor manager/board wish to tell their fans .................. you heard it here first guys.........!

No they most certainly did not say anything of the sort, a budget was agreed and will be adhered to so when players arrive others will leave to balance the books.

Keith Scott has openly said in the local papers that he needs to find a few more players yet [don't forget he only started assembling a squad during the first week in July] and, as I've said previously, announcements will only be made once the registration of the player is finalised as we don't do 'Rumour'.

As for conjecture about who earns what it will have to remain as conjecture as the club will certainly not discuss the contents of any private arrangements between itself and indivduals on a public forum [and rightly so!].

What I will state as fact though is that a number of players are earning quite a bit less than they were at a higher level simply because they have 'bought in' to the new concept and plans for the new club - loyalty isn't dead yet !
