Very Disappointed !

Its just same old , same old again ! we play Burnham they want it more and an inferior team beats us and 3 valuable points go down the drain ! is there any chance we can start playing when the whistle goes like other teams instead of taking at least 10 minutes to wake up ?? not good enough , this team has the potential to win this league BUT ................oh well here we go again ! scrape into the play offs , flatter to deceive, oh well always next year when Arlesey,Hitchin,St.Neots etc. etc. etc. have gone ! :(

Apologies Staines, must have been half asleep!!!

I think we need to judge when we are 10-12 games in, if it's still the same old story then fair enough... If I'm honest, I think it will be but I hope I'm proved wrong!!!

The potential in this current squad is phenomenal, good enough to reach the play offs in the Premier let alone the Central... Just crying out for consistency!!!

Slough have been consistently inconsistent since at least 1987 (year of my first game) so I think you are hoping for miracles there. I think it is partly the character of the club and partly the nature of non league football.

To put it all into perspective,Steve Bateman is quoted in Slough Observer this week as saying ' We are still aiming at the play-offs and trying to maintain a top five position throughout the season and see where it takes us from there. '

Forgive me if I'm wrong but I thought our aim should be 1st place and if we can't be champions, then try and finish as high as we can.

Steve Bateman is not a bad manager and I believe the team will be around the top 7 come the end of the season. However, whether he's a very good manager is hard to pin point.I still have doubts about some of his decisions but then again, all fans question things when they see their team lose.

I don't think he is right to blame the referee at the Burnham game, even though the officiating was poor. Some of the players don't stop swearing at any little thing and give the ref an even harder time than is necessary.

Football is blighted by swearing and disrespect. I wish some football players could take a leaf out of how rugby union players behave with their officials.

We lost against Burnham because of being far too nervous at the start of the game and conceding two very badly defended goals, however we had enough time to get back in the game.

If our substitions had been earlier and we had put Charlie Mpi on, for at least half an hour, we may have got, at least a point instead of nothing.

Age old sayings 3spirit, football is a gentlemen's game played by thugs and rugby is a thugs game played by gentlemen... It'll never change especially when people as high up in the echelons as Sir Alex Ferguson slate and swear at the FA in interviews then at our level it will only be a hell of a lot worse!!!

Glad you still give your honest opinion, a lot braver than me!!

Absolutely spot on ! this is Slough Town we are talking here ! to even be thinking of anything other than winning this league at this stage is beyond me ? this is a very good squad , ok we have had the centre back injuries and goalkeeper but that seems to be resolving itself , imo its better than almost all in the league even allowing for the so called marquee signings that St.Neots have ! if this team believe in themselves 100% the league is there for us and quite why they should start nervously against Burnham, or any other team for that matter, baffles me ? i can understand Bates being a bit reserved about what he says about our chances but he has to say winning it is the aim ! :)
