New Signing

According to the combined counties forum Windsor have signed Alex Jeffers from Sandhurst Town! Any truth in the rumours?

As and when we sign anyone we will put it on our forum. It would seem there has been a mass exodus at Sandhurst following the resignation of their manager and the vultures are picking the bones clean. We on the other hand submitted an official 7-day approach for one of their players and that matter should reach a conclusion tonight following expiry of the notice period.

It would have appeared on the forum officially last night had my home hub not been destroyed by the thunderstorm we had !

The simple fact is that over the years there have been so many players who are allegedly signing for clubs who end up going elsewhere that we don't announce them until their registration is logged with the relevant league. Alex is a typical example of that as when I went to sign him Monday there was no sign of him at home [having arranged to meet him there] and his parents didn't even know where he was and he wasn't answering is mobile. As it turned out he'd suffered a blow out on the motorway on his way home from work and his mobile battery had run out !

Subsequently his registration form was signed Tuesday, followed by a signature from Sandhurst Town on Wednesday evening assenting to the transfer. The form is then submitted to the league Thursday with a registration number being issued Friday morning at which stage he is a Windsor player.

So we can now officially welcome Alex Jeffers to the club and he'll go straight into the squad for the game at Croydon today.

Also joining the club is midfielder Matt Seedal from Burnham and he'll be in today's squad as well [but I expect Smudge already knew that anyway].

Has it been announced on our forum ? NO. Then the answer is no !

It has now, funny how we outsiders know more about your Signings than your hardcore supporters do.

Just goes to show just how well informed the 'Secret-Squirrel Society' of the CCL Forum really is, Smudger !!
