Blimey 2 games suffer light issues. Money on Camberley and Banstead winning the respective rematches !!!

Just as well the season started early! Clearly whitelaw foresaw rioting and lighting issues.

I was at Hanworth Villa last night where South Park were very unlucky not to get something out of the game.

Hanworth villa 1-0 South Park

I think we felt very hard done by last night not to get a result, but this comes down to not being able to put your chances away, we have said this 3 out of our 4 games so far but one thing that wins games is goals and we haven't been hitting the net enough, creating chances is not the issue we create loads of chances during games it's just down to the lack of finishing.

Hanworth villa took there chance last night quite a scrappy goal which took a slight deflection to go in but as they say "they all count"

A break from the league this weekend with the FA Cup here so hopefully a win and a few goals will kick start the season for us.

I thought that last night was our (Westfield) best 90 mins this season. We have played better in short spells in our other games but I am pleased with the way we played throughout the 90. We put Bookham under a lot of pressure and created quite a few chances in the 1st half without scoring. I am pleased with our lads for not letting it get to them and continuing to try and play, and create opportunities. I think we got what we deserved in the end. I’ve obviously only seen them last night, but I think that Bookham will be a much better side away from home this season. They tried to play a lot of short, sharp stuff, moving the ball about well throughout the side and their movement was good. Without wanting to criticize the pitch too much as I am sure we will play on worse this season, it's not ideal for the way they play and on a better surface I can see them causing teams a lot of problems!

Thought the game was played in a good spirit, no bad challenges but still competitive. No issues on the sidelines with the Bookham bench seeming a decent bunch, although not a great deal of distance between the 2 benches if there is a bit of animosity. The result obviously helped, but a decent evening had and we’ll see you again in a couple of weeks in the Vase.

Ash Utd 3 Dorking 0

Good team performance to gain a win against a good Dorking side. Got off to a great start when we opened the scoring on 16 minutes from a corner. Had several good more chances but also so did Dorking but at half time 1 up. 2nd half again got an early goal but both side had chances (dorking could have had more if the knew the offside trap) & in the final minute we wrap the game up.

Dorking will be no pushovers this season & can easily see them around mid table, ourselves its a good start, playing some good football at times plus a good team spirit.

Thanks we have already played worse than that and picked up a point but this is football its a nasty game, can play well and lose, can play rubbish and win just don't make sense really..

I agree with Teffers. Westfield will definitely be there, or there-abouts at the end.

I would just like to say what a good match we were part of last night at Cove. Five goals (four of them in the 'right' net) and not a bad challenge made in the game. No cautions for either side, as far as I am aware. The referee and his assistants were excellent - not just because there were no bookings, but in their whole approach to the game. Cove are always a friendly club to visit and they looked after us well, even putting up with us staying in their bar well after everyone else had gone home.

Thought the ref at Hanworth was good last night as well - Rob Smith as per Prog.

Agreed gutted about the result but Ref only made a couple of questionable decisions, which is pretty damn good in my eyes. Well played Mr Smith :applaus:

Cove 1 Guildford 4 in fairness the team that will probably win this league were just to strong in all departments and it was a battle all night just to keep in touch with them, but having said that we still had our moments and caused them quite a few problems the one thing we are lacking is composure in front of goal but this is something we can work on in training and try to remedy,Its the FA cup for us this saturday and another tough game awaits us,we are at home to AFC Porchester 3 00pm kick off, come on down as i'm sure it will be an entertaining afternoon.
