Have to say, we looked a completely different team compared to Saturday v Aylesbury... Defensively very strong with Smith not having a save to make, midfield were tenacious and industrious, and attack wise we had chances galore once we settled...

Well done boys, I haven't enjoyed watching a Slough Team play like tonight for a very long time...

BRING ON CHERTSEY!!!!

Tonight was one of the most hard working and disciplined performances I've seen in a long time from Slough. The workrate was phenominal from every single player, we closed them down, we moved into space and we passed the ball brilliantly. It doesn't have to be fantasy football - there's real beauty in doing simple things well.

There's clearly been a discussion about discipline. Whilst we were tough and challenging for every ball it was in a controlled manner. Last season we'd have picked up 2 or 3 yellow cards in a second half like tonight. We didn't pick up any however.

Difficult to pick a man of the match - they were all superb.

Very good performance, particularly the second half where we were completely dominant. could probably have got a couple more goals but the win is important to get the season going.

I have been skeptical about the 5-3-2 formation but if we can play like the second half consistently then we can do well. just got to make sure the attacking threat stays strong. Everyone played well and a very good team performance.

Well done Rebels, same again Saturday!

Cracking team performance tonight with everyone playing their part. We dominated from start to finish and on chances could have won more comfortably by 4 or 5.

I think we actually played more of a 4-4-1-1 tonight with Sincs pushed further forward and it showed with a sparkling return to form from him given more of an attacking role.

Well done to the team for an excellent nights entertainment and really looking forward to Chertsey on Saturday.

I wasnt able to go tonight but Im greatly encouraged by the reports of those who did. Looks like the defensive weaknesses of the past few seasons may have been addressed although its early days yet and both Aylesbury and Uxbridge are rebuilding and not amongst the strongest teams we will face.Lets hope this bright start can be maintained.

defence is very good at the moment but in fairness Bowden Hasse and Woozley are both top class. Brown looks good too

as said Smith basically caught 3 crosses and jumped on the loose ball a couple of times and that was it for him

not sure if Uxbridge are dreadful or if we just made them look like they are. hard to tell really.

Murphy was awesome bombing up and down the left

2nd half at least everything came through Sinclairs right wing and that can only be a great thing as he is chief provider

Coyne really does seem to have knuckled down and his commitment and effort levels have been awesome particularly last night

midfield 3 definitely was much better than Saturday. seemed organised and knew if 1 had pushed forward then 1 of the other 2 has to hold back and sit

great goal from Burnell. what a shame that Woozley didnt score when he surged forward 40+ yards weaving left and right and then got on the cross heading into the ground and onto the bar

this is the sort of performance that we need to find consistently. need to make sure we kill the games off though as it got a bit nervy for a bit at 1-0. saying that had we not won it would have been greatly undesevered point for Uxbridge

Probably one of the best performances I have seen from a Slough side for a long time.

Strong in defence, tenacious in midfield and with Burnell and Sonner running constantly at the

Uxbridge defence coudl have easily been 5 or 6. One of our regular younger posters said

that he could not see where the goals where going to come from: there is your answer.

Worth saying that I was talking to their manager Tony Choules towards the end....he said we are a very good side and it was our quality that made Uxbridge look poor when he feels that actually they are more than reasonable themselves...............from Choulsey that can be regarded as quite a compliment !

I think our main weaknesses last season were our lack of discipline and our inability to keep a clean sheet. If the Uxbridge game is anything to go by it would appear the management are successfully dealing with the problem.

The overall team effort was so good on Tuesday it was difficult to pick a MOM although Sean Sonner just edged it for me.

Excellent news if Martin signs and features soon. That will give SB plenty of selection headaches which is exactly what we want.

Thought the performance at Uxbridge was very controlled and professional. We looked very solid definsively and played patiently creating plenty of chances.

Thought Murphy was outstanding, an absolute natural at wing back. Also really pleased to see Sincy come more into the game 2nd half when we really began to control things.

Good stuff, COYR
