Good start to the campaign

Well I have to say well done lads, a great start to our campaign 7 wins from 8 games. Two things certain our lads will be looking at that and thinking "we like winning", and our opposition will also see 7 wins from 8 games, knowing when they take on the Gate this season they'll expect a bloody good fight...

Can't wait till Saturday....Let battle commence.

Friedlies are totaly different to league games.

In my mind 0-bears no reflection.

This is the week when CK and JL earn their corn.

Need to step up the INTENSITY.

Pace and power at league games is totally different to friendlies-those results are meaningless.

Fortunately-most of the players have experience of ryman league so know what is required-but its CK's job to get them out of summer stroll friendly mode into battle mode as you say-because it is now a battle;and certainly for the first game-its about mindset -and from the first minute playing at a completely different level to a friendly game..

Main thing is-don't lose your first game as it gives you a platform for the next couple of games to go on and grasp them .

Up the 'Gate

Going into the new season 7 wins out of 8 must give our boys a good feeling. Just reverse the results for a moment, how would they be feeling going into the new season having won 1 and lost 7.

I think Margate are in a very good frame of mind, entering the new season.

Looking forward to Saturday..

Do hope you are right Mark.

Just to me-psf's have no reflection on the real thing.

Tonbridge for example-had a terrible pre-season campaign, and went away to maidenhead yesterday and thumped them 4-0.

Agree-things look ok-but its next saturday that counts-and there are 22 teams and asociated supporters all looking for the same thing next saturday-and some are going to be ecstatic and some disappointed.

CK and JL need to get everones' head right' for next saturday at 3 pm

I'd take a draw at wealdstone right now

I have no idea what specifically 'positive thinking ' is-but simply ask does this thing called 'positive thinking' actually get you any points ?

i guess you could say that if it is accopanied by ENOUGH positive action-you will probably get your required result.

Its looking ok -but so it is at the majority of clubs before the real stuff starts-and i'm not certain at the moment that there is enough 'there to be certain of three points next saturday.

Time will tell.

Meanwhile-looking forward to this tuesdays announcement as a precursor to the footie
