Horley T 0 Ash Utd 1

after last season poor showings at Horley, we put in a much better performance, to get our first win off the season. Got off to the perfect start winning a pen & slotting it away after just ten mins. We the rode our luck when Horley hot the post & crossbar & missed a 1on1. Then just before halftime we scored, only for the officials to somehow changed their minds after many Horley players protested with them.

2nd half Horley had plenty off the ball, created a couple chances with our keeper making a couple off good saves, but the last 20minutes was like watching the old wimbledon, long kick upfield & hope for a flick on, but our back four stood up well against it & kept Horley at bay

Guernsey 3-0 wars

set off at 6 am saturday morning arrived at guernsey fc at around 10 am lovely facillities and a great set up.guernsey came racing out the traps and played some quick tidy football, was very impressed with their movement and attacking play.theres no doubt a number of their players should be playing alot higher i dont think they will be beaten at home this year as the surface suits their style of play maybe a different story away from home on the not so flat pitches.despite the result we still enjoyed the experience even though i didnt play lol

Gilesy08, pleased you had a good Guernsey experience, hopefully we are starting to prove the doubters wrong?

So far two teams have travelled to Guernsey, one came on the Friday and one came on the Saturday. Assume The players found it a bit of a long day? Did they sample the Guernsey night life last night? From my own experience I think it's better to travel the night before, look at what the pros do. I know with jobs etc it's not always possible though of course.

Prove the doubters wrong I don't think so ! Maybe if we win the next 10 games 3-0 we might get some respect ! ;)

I was more referring to some early posts where some posters wondered if we knew how to organise a match and look after guests. I know we are a bit if a backwater, but.....

We will do well at home, but I expect some troubles when travelling away, especially on some of the tougher surfaces. Three away games in a week massive test. Dont expect nine points!

Why dont you expect 9 points??????? Eversly play on a carpet, Frimley havent had the greatest start and Cobham who havent won yet...should be 9 points in the bag......

I recall smudge saying that GFC should pay for a CCL team to come to Guernsey pre season test things out.

Guernsey teams have been hosting visiting sides, Inc. Pro sides for Donkeys years.

Has anyone else noticed that Hartley Hare and Hartleys site say yesterdays result was 3-3 but the CCL website says it was 3-2 and has given Hartley 7 points in the table? !!!!!

Frimley 0-3 Lammas

Lammas went to Frimley on saturday searching for their first win of the season. The pitch was the best I have ever seen at frimley, was a joy to play on it. Lammas had a started quite well but frimley had the first chances of the game with a 25 yrd volley saved by keeper cox. Lammas took the lead when Matt Brunts corner was met by skipper Ben Whatfords head. Lammas then doubled the lead when Gary James was brought down in the box, George Baldock cooley converted. Second half there wasn't too much action but lammas managed to nick a 3rd threw another header from Skipper Whatford. Good win and points on the board. Massive game tuesday against local rivals spelthorne!!

.... so Mitoo is currently wrong then ? :o

I thought the club secs were responsible for supplying updates - I see the HW site shows the final score as 3-3 so what happened

..... my faith is shaken!

PS were Spelthorne good or HW having an off day at the back? (again :doah: )

first half whitney were on top and 2.1 up. second half a rejuvienated spelthorne came out and completly dominated.spelthorne should off took all 3 points

Spelthorne made it very difficult (not that you expect any team to lie down) but it was very much 2 points dropped for HW's point of view. 2nd half was dissapointing and we got what we deserved plus a needless sending off.

Spelthorne will make things difficult for many sides, but they are tactically naive at times, bomb on to support forward play, but don't always track back to defend. Very skillfull winger needs to be watched for, he will cause damage to a lot of sides.

Is that Swaby (winger) who played for Chessington & Hook 2 seasons ago and even maybe played for them last season ?

Bedfont sports 1 worcester p 0

Played in a good spirit an some decsent football in patches from both sides sports looked like scoring from every corner they had then george marks opened scoring from one with a header into roof of net !

Wp were missing players or looked they are. seemed outa sorts at times but still very good. Second half pretty even steven with both keepers making good saves wp seemed to lack a cutting edge in final third but got a pen awarded after marks fouled in box , pelton saves to his right an id say a deserved win for sports no doubt tho that they will be there abouts again!!

Wp keeper pulled off some good saves ,but id have kingy all day long tho lol ;)
