Guildford v Sandhurst - 10/08

Recommended Posts

Wandered over to the Spectrum. Good to meet Bommie and bump into TRS and plenty of others as well including all the usual friendly Sandhurst faces.

Final score was 4-1 to Guildford. Scoreline was harsh on Sandhurst who, once they got the ball down, troubled Guildford but I have to say Guildford look very sharp going forward and already look the team to beat this year.

Frustrating night, thought Guildford did indeed look very sharp and quick going forward. We definitely had several, very good chances to score ourselves and make it a closer encounter, but didnt take them. Very surprised by the refs decision to not even show a yellow to the Guildford centre back in the first half, for pulling back our striker and being last man, but think that set the tone for the evening for the officials. Credit to Guildford, look like they will be the team to beat, but will need to be a bit more solid defensively I think. 3 points dropped and we'll need to claw them back Saturday.

I agree with the you Milesy. Jeffers wasnt clean through but having already spoken to the player concerned it should have been at least a yellow. Backed up when Jeffers got his for pulling the defender back. What on earth he did that for I have no idea. First 20 minutes you guys pumped it long and gave your 2 fowards no chance but once you got it down you were much better. More so when Louis went to right mid as well. Cant believe Oggy missed his chance !!!!

Good to finally meet you too Krooner. TRS was there too fiming, I tried adding the Big Match music live for one of the goals.

Agree that Sandhurst will feel slightly hard done by. They'd played pretty well and created chances but couldn't put them away with Seaward having an off night.

Thing with Guildford that I've seen over the last few weeks if they not only create chances for fun but they are generally lethal when taking them. Jaydon Gibbs in particular is so dangerous for them and the midfielder Youcef Oudijiadne was probably my man of the match - very composed on the ball and very versatile.

And they could have scored more than four. Camara missed a couple of sitters and Milesey made at least three very good blocks which looked certain goals. How was Buck's injury?

Yea we were all a bit confused about Jeffers' yellow card! I was more frustrated about Seawards' header from 1 yard out! Positive was that he looked pretty sharp, as did a few others and if you create those sort of chances against Guildford, you have to take them. Got my first 90 in the Sandhurst colours which I was pleased about, just hope the result is a different one Saturday.

Cheers bomaya......think you hit the nail on the head, our right back and I even said towards the end of the game, that every time they went forward, they looked like scoring. Bucks is ok, just an impact injury and came off for precaution, should be fine for Sat.

Jeffers deserved a card. He pulled the defender back who was closing in on Oggy. Very cyncial from someone still so young :) But as we say did make a bit of a mockery their skipper not getting booked for virtually the same offence.

Agree Bommie with Mr Gibbs and also the 7. Both quick and the 7 loves putting in an early ball which as this level can be lethal.

Yeah don't know what came over me!! I've been pretty good recently.. But that Ref last night is in a league of his own for being a BTK who thinks he should be refereeing league football... So he trys winding players up! Even asked me what my name was 4 times when he booked me! For a tackle which wasn't even a foul! Then went on to tell me im an embarrassing player and telling Danny turner to shut up because he isn't even good enough to get in the starting line up! [****!!****]
