I take your point, Jack and I'm sorry if you (or anyone else) were offended. Believe me, I do not "joke" about mental health and if you look at the definition of the word I used, I believe it was in context, in so far as there was a wild oscillation in attitude from one thread to another. That was the point I was trying to make, perhaps I worded it a little strongly.

The thing is, I think there is one rule for some people here, but a different rule for others and, having been at the sharp end of football administration for more years than I care to admit, I get annoyed when I see someone with no formal connection to the League slagging off people who work countless hours to look after it, particularly when the person taking the brunt of it is someone I know well and consider a friend.

Mate GG's comment was just another throw away silly comment from an immature poster. I agreed with part of what Smudge said, so I would assume I am one of his 'personal followers' despite the numerous disagreements we have had. Bizarre really.

I doubt there are two people on this forum that always agree with each other. Even two of the refs disagreed on a thread about a decision.

I get what you mean its not really the meaning of the word though. However I get your point, but it is irritating when as outsiders people can see how things can be made better and more fair. As you say its not as easy to do when your on the inside.

I think he has got mixed up with personal followers, friends and people in agreement.

Everyone should in an ideal world treat everyone how they would expect to be treated themselves. However as this week has proved there are some in society who are selfish and could not give a monkeys about anyone else.

Gents, it's very gratifying, and appreciated, that so many people have sprung to my defence, especially Beano, but there's no need. I'm fairly thick skinned and did not take any great exception to GG's comments about my knowledge of football. I suspect that most at Ashford would probably agree with him! I can't really remember the comment but was probably trying to make the point that Knaphill played some good football themselves last week but were let down by some appalling defensive errors. The winner of the match though was never in dispute.

Whitelaw at our time of life if we have not grown a thick skin by now, we are in serious danger of being an endangered species!!! Even more so, when put into the context of the last week or so. I just wish that you had expressed these thoughts a little earlier and maybe some of the 'less complimentory comments' could have been averted.

Mr Whitelaw I wish to apologise whole heartedly if I personally offended you in any way. I hope that this is not the case as when I made the comments I did they were not personal towards you. I thought that this forum was for personal points of view and not restricted to comments that were acceptable to certain full time followers. My posting entitled 'Guernsey Day 1' has obviously been deleted, the good, the bad and the contrevsial! Bomaya has stated that my posts are still available on the 'Guernsey Thread' thread but although he states that all of my posts are there they are obviously not. I made my posts, contrevsial but honest in my opinion and nothing to do with any other Guernsey poster, (although Donkey keeps getting the blame). I still feel that Knaphill were no where near GFC but HW were one hell of a lot better. I enjoyed the game and thought that HW should have won over the 90 minutes, the first half was all HW and GFC were miles off the pace of the game in the first half. I choose to be respectul and disrespectful as I like, I dont lower myself to personal threats and to be honest have never been concerned about any Big Boys who want to meet me when they come to Guernsey. These comments, in my opinion, out weigh the truths that I stated for my team. As GD has already stated I waste no time apologising for supporting my team, my committment does not suit everyone and for that I do not apologise. I personally apologise to Mr Whitelaw who has been dragged into my comments by some people who choose to blame me for everything that ever happened in this league. But I do not apologise to the rest of you, your threats are ridiculous, all that I have done is be [****!!****] sure of my team, very [****!!****] sure, and I still stand very [****!!****] sure. Threats of big boys finding me in Guernsey is childish. I have not missed a GFC game, I will not miss one, home or away as I am totally committed. I am happy to meet with any of you, face to face to sort any issues we may have, but please stop causing problems between me and people like Mr Whitelaw.

Thought it was going to be a decent post GG but in my personal opinion, and isnt this site all about that, you made a bit of mug of yourself with the bits at the end. Hope to see Guernsey at some point and look forward to meeting you then :)

The thread was merged into the main Guernsey thread. From what I can tell, it starts at #508 in that thread by your good self. I don't actually remember there being anything particularly controversial, just you being cocky and people slating you for it.

It isn't normal practice in forums for people to get pm'd when a thread is merged!

And I have no problem with you being cocky, just be prepared to get slated for it. :)
