Karen Browne
I don't think we can complain about yesterday's outcome, only MK Wanderers and Mursley United bit the dust From what part of your posting above does it mention any other losers apart from the TWO named. MK Wanderers + Mursley United + Old Bradwell United = THREE (or it did when I was at school) Regardless of who they lost to it still adds up to THREE SSML teams biting the dust. Rhodes
An extract from the latest SSML Newsletter folks, I assume there is no copyright: BERKS & BUCKS INTERMEDIATE CUP-2nd ROUND There was a mixed bag for the SSMFL sides in this competition. Aston Clinton eased through 2-1 against homeless Buckingham Town, and Hale Leys Utd recovered from a half time deficit to beat Aylesbury Dynamos 3-2. There was a similar result at Farnham Royal Mens Club where Buckingham Athletic relied on a goal in the 8th minute of added on time before going through. There was a very comfortable 7-1 win for Risboro Rangers over MK Titans, but Pitstone & Ivinghoe just got the better of Stokenchurch with an epic 6-5 win aet. Previous winners New Bradwell St. Peter also took Chalvey WMC Sports to extra time but eventually lost out 5-2, and Stony Stratford Town were another who lost out in extra time, this time 3-2 to Hazlemere Sports. Holmer Green Reserves went down 4-2 to Aylesbury FC Reserves and Amersham Town lost 5-1 to a strong Singh Sabha Slough side. Chalfont Wasps, who not so long ago won this competition three years on the trot, needed a last minute penalty to overcome Winslow Utd 2-1. The Draw for the Third Round is as follows:- Aston Clinton v Buckingham Athletic Bletchley Town v Chalfont Wasps Hale Leys United v Prestwood Risborough Rangers v Pitstone & Ivinghoe

Rhodes
A report from another's Forum: Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup 3rd Round 1.30pm Hale Leys United 2 Prestwood 1 att.16 No admission or programme. HLU are 3rd bottom of the Spartan South Midlands League Div 2, whilst ex-Hellenic League Prestwood are 2nd in the Wycombe & District League. HLU were far better and it was a surprise that it took them 21 minutes to go in front, due to some very good saves by the Prestwood keeper and a number of missed chances. What looked like the decisive goal came on 58 minutes, but the visitors made it a nervous last 13 minutes when the ball was stabbed past the keeper from the edge of the box giving a much closer scoreline than they really deserved and they even had a good chance to draw level in stoppage time. The ground is as basic as they come and there can't be many worse than this at step 7. The pitch, which is roped on three sides, is one of 6 full size pitches and is about 250 yards from the changing rooms. There are no faciliteis whatsoever, although on a nice sunny afternoon it was quite pleasant, but certainly one to avoid when the weather takes a turn for the worse. Glad to re complete the SSML once again.
Rhodes
An extract from the SSML newsletter, I hope there's no copyright: BERKS & BUCKS INTERMEDIATE CUP – 3rd ROUND Congratulations to Bletchley Town who dumped holders Chalfont Wasps out of the Cup with two extra time goals from Sam Bearman and Carlo Nigro. Adam Castagnetti had given Bletchley an early lead but a goal in the 88th minute from Wasps forced extra time. There was a real humdinger of a game at Aston Clinton where visitors Buckingham Athletic eventually won out by five goals to four. Athletic went into a two goal lead at half time, but then conceded three goals in the first 17 minutes of the second period to find themselves 3-2 down. They fought back however, and scored three themselves in the next 15 minutes - game over… not quite as the home side pulled one back from the penalty spot with three minutes left to produce a grandstand finish. Risborough Rangers moved into the next round after narrowly edging out visitors Pitstone & Ivinghoe 4-3 on penalties, the game finishing 1-1 aet, and despite not managing a goal themselves during the 120 minutes of play. Hale Leys Utd is also through to the next round after beating Wycombe league side Prestwood 2-1 at home.
Rhodes
Not SSML teams but Chalvey host Buckingham Athletic in the Fourth Round which sounds like it will be a tough game for Jim Gunn's men: B & B INTERMEDIATE CUP 3rd round. Chalvey WMC Sports 3, Aylesbury Reserves 2. AET. Chalvey opened the scoring after 34 mins but Aylesbury equalised 2 minutes later and it was one each at half time. Aylesbury went in front 10 minutes into the second half against the run of play. The home side equalised from the penalty spot with 6 minutes remaining to take it to extra time. A free kick from 25 yards won the tie for Chalvey, who now face Buckingham Athletic in the next round.
