TONIGHT'S FIXTURE AT WEMBLEY IS OFF.

Despite the League expressing their wishes that the game should go ahead [having sought advice from the Police, FA and Middx FA], Windsor FC have taken the decision to inform the CCL that they deem it unsafe to undertake the journey this evening with players travelling by tube and others coming from various parts of the capital so, therefore, tonight's fixture is postponed and the club will have to face the consequences of 'Failing to fulfil the fixture' which we hope in due course will be seen in a sympathetic manner.

Seems the most sensible thing to do and surely the League must use a common sense approach to this.I must admit I had doubts about travelling to watch this evening.I am sure Wembley FC would back our decision also.

I wouldn't be so sure about that after reading what the CCL Secretary has said on the league forum.

We have actually cancelled training this evening as we believe there is enough of a risk to people's safety getting home into areas such as Croydon and through London's transport systems.

Thought Chessington's reason was better, could not gaurantee an Ambulance to get to the ground in case of a serious injury.AFTER WAITING FOR 3 HOURS AT Hanworth Villa on Saturday for one to arrive.

Quite agree.Common sense has to be used surely.Plus the Police were telling people not to travel far from home etc last evening!
