Croydon v RPV

Recommended Posts

Smudge, where are you going Saturday as this fiver's burning a hole in my pocket? I was thinking about Horley V Ash,but not averse to Sandhurst if you are definitely going.

They do not let OLD IDIOTS like me in at Horley ask H.T.F.C. so will be going to the Arena.

You really are damned if you do and damed if you don't with Smudge (unless of course it's his opinion or actions)!

What would you be saying if players were caught up in anything tomorrow on the way to/from the game, if it had gone ahead? You would no doubt blame the league for not doing the right thing!!

Correct decision by the league and clubs involved.

Jurgs, dear chap.Croydon v R.P.V. is hardly an International or Carling Cup game, where a large Police presence is required.Should all people who work in Croydon not bother going to work, due to what's going on.Lets hope it does not hit Woking, then would you advise not going there either. You are getting on my nerves a bit

Smudgeyboy scenario, okay the game proceeds to go ahead tonight. The rioters decide to attack and petrol bomb your beloved 'Arena', just think about it, you have no idea where and what these rioters will/would do next. How would you feel if that happened ? Don't say it wouldn't happen 'cos you don't know if it would or would not !

Every possibility has to be considered, perhaps you could tell the players parents that the their son is caught up in the riots at Croydon...... well you can always then say it's the leagues fault !!! Get real man..........

Nice Guy,I would never want anyone to come to harm,as you well know no one likes going to the Arena at the best of times anyway. But being local to the area,I do not see a problem.Must say though that the Police who have done a brave and Courageous job over the last few days, must have poor intelligence. What do thugs/robbers never do,steal or rob on there own patch,I happen to live in an Area where there is a well known chavy gang, nothing has been damaged in that area.Likewise Sth Norwood and Large Areas surrounding the Arena have been untouched for similar reasons.Mitcham likewise, and areas like Purley,Selsdon,Whyteleafe,Kenley, have not been affected in a big way, reason the Majority of the people doing these wicked things would stand out like a sore thumb in those areas.

To me it sounds like rioters from Croydon have robbed from shops and burnt down buildings in their own town !

Acknowledge your comments, so basically you are saying that it is well worth taking a chance to play the game in Croydon tonight, in a town which was one of the worse hit by rioters, on the basis that THE ARENA has it's own 'Chavy Gang' to protect it .......... oh please Smudge ?

A little while back, didn't some innocent young lad die (RIP) of being shot or stabbed at/by The Arena !

Dobo Snr, without doubt the CORRECT decision not to play the game tonight ! It would even be worth losing 3points...........'cos life is far too precious !

Please DO NOT link the stabbing of the youth with Croydon FC.

The poor lad in question was at a party that was held at the Arena. This was in no way associated with Croydon FC. Others tried to gatecrash the party then it kicked off and the poor young youth was stabbed.

Lensmeister, you've got it all wrong, I was NOT associating the above stabbing with Croydon FC far from it. I'm just highlighting to Smadge the fact that simply no-one can predict what could happen irrespective, so why risk players playing tonight, it's ludicrous that Smudgeyboy is trying to justify the game being played tonight !

Just saying but i think that point smudge was making in the first place was that the match was cancelled 2 days in advance before we knew what the state of the country was rather then him disagreeing that its not right to put safety before football
