Croydon v RPV

Recommended Posts

Totally sensible decision in my opinion. No one knows whether there may be similar problems tonight in and around Croydon - why risk it?

I better not go to sleep tonight,I may not wake up Tomorrow syndrome.Shall I cross that road,I might get run over.

Absolutely correct decision. I think it was you that said recently family is more important than football. Why risk it indeed. There are plenty more playing dates available when things will have quietened down and thus risks reduced.

The League, through me, has issued the following statement:

"The League has been endeavouring to liaise with various authorities, including the Police, concerning the safety of players, officials and spectators at midweek matches (in particular) during the present volatile situation. Taking all current advice into account, the Premier Division match, Croydon v Raynes Park Vale, scheduled for Wednesday 10 August has been postponed.

All other matches are on at present, but safety is paramount and the situation will remain under constant review. Should this change at short notice, the co-operation of all concerned would be welcomed."

I hope most would agree with the action taken.

As, when and if the situation changes or there are further developments, I will endeavour to show the information on the forum once the clubs have been advised. Unless there is a drastic deterioration in the situation I would hope that all Saturday matches will go ahead.

You really are damned if you do and damed if you don't with Smudge (unless of course it's his opinion or actions)!

What would you be saying if players were caught up in anything tomorrow on the way to/from the game, if it had gone ahead? You would no doubt blame the league for not doing the right thing!!

Correct decision by the league and clubs involved.

Jurgs, dear chap.Croydon v R.P.V. is hardly an International or Carling Cup game, where a large Police presence is required.Should all people who work in Croydon not bother going to work, due to what's going on.Lets hope it does not hit Woking, then would you advise not going there either. You are getting on my nerves a bit
