It was always going to happen. Last time there was a right wing tory government there were riots in Tottenham and other parts of London.

Cuts in the welfare budget whilst directors, footballer, second rate celebrities get paid millions. Hedge funds make money on falling markets when nobody has ever explained to me where that money comes from. It comes out of our pensions so what does the government do. Cut those pensions.

Still in a democracy the people get the government they deserve.

I know of lots of people who are not stealing items from shops and causing damage.

Steph, these are just scum who have jumped on a riot about a bloke getting shot, don't think for one minute they are doing it because of the state of the country. They are doing it because they are scum who have nothing better to do,because they have been brought up by scum parents in scum communities, where people have let violence and disorder go on far too long. The idiots don't realise, all they are doing is making the places they live in ten times as bad.

Steph, I won't go quite as strongly as EU(!) but sometimes, when it all boils down, you have to look at individuals, families and upbringing. Regardless of which party is in power, it should not affect your moral stance. That can be good regardless of whether you are a millionaire or a pauper. The last two nights haven't been about Duggan or austerity or the fact we have a right wing governement, wake up. I know it goes against the pleadings of many from a left wing background but it's not always the fault of 'the man'. People need to take a long hard look at themselves. I'm not sure I put my point across too well, but if you need to know more, ask this lady. I bet her kids aren't looting Curry's...

There is loads of strong language in this so beware.

Her last line sums it all up.

Meanwhile, on with the football. Sorry FJ!

I think we have to wake up,this has been coming a long time and it's about time we stopped pussy footed around with the youth and some of those old enough to know better. We need to get out of Europe and start taking control of our own country instead of being governed for far too long by countries who don't have anywhere like the problems we have. It's the fault of various governments, not just the one now (although law and order seems to have got worse in the 90's under labour).

It costs £38'000 per annum to lock someone up,why?? Because we pamper to the scums human rights, for some reason, face facts, half of these idiots don't want to be reformed, they are happy spreading violence, thinking they live in ghettos when 95% of them really don't have that bad a deal. This can be the end of this country or it can be the start of it's resurgence, enough is enough but those in power need to be strong enough to sort it out.Time for the troops to be pulled out of everyone elses mess,,the army to be downgraded somewhat and the police to be bolstered by recruits from the army.

Steph is a sad old fart and a known Leftie he will blame anything except his own principles . The problems are caused by a Lack of discipline in schools (No caning or smacking by Teachers) and the fact parents arent allowed to give their children a firm hand such as a clip round the ear or a good hiding . I know a man who gave his son a good hiding for stealing money off his grandparents "Guess What ? " The little s--t called the police and the father is interviewed by social services and given a firm warning . The little brats Know there is no deterrent thats why they turn into the scum they are . The Human rights of criminals also needs removing The world has gone mad. Oh yes The Labour party caused the problems by bankrupting the counrty in the first Instance and as before The Tories have to clean up the mess .

Open your Eyes Steph and live in the real world brille008.gif

If this has nothing to do with football MbrunoB why is the ETFC match off tonight, plus some Carling cup games, and the England match tomorrow evening?

Sometimes it is right to vent ones feelings about important things, which affect everyone, other than football !!

Interesting posts.

Andy you stirred up a hornets nest.

EU

I was in Peckham today as I had an appointment. I saw no scum merely people like me and, unfortunately you. Some of the people I saw were bigots like you and can only look at the symptoms of a society where there are extremes of wealth and others were busy clearing up the little bit of mess that had been caused by the difficulties of the previous night. The person I went to see was being repossessed for non payment of rent. She talked about the previous night in disapproving tones. What upset her was a clip on telly where a youngster appeared to have been helped by two good samaritans who then rifled through the lads back pack to see if there was anything to steal. She had a young daughter who had just celebrated her fourth birthday. I asked how she had got into problems with her rent and it turned out she was a guest of her majesty for three months when housing benefit was stopped.

The fact is that her daughter has no life chances and society is not giving her any. This situation has got worse since the present government got in and it has nothing to do with the EU, Iraq or right wing rants like yours. It has to do with people like you who see humanity as them and us. I only see us and that includes creeps like you.

BR It is true that I have left wing ideals but do not apologise for them however my left wing views do not embrace the removal of corporal punishment much to the disgust of my wife and secretary. I was caned at school, was smacked by my father and like to think that my upbringing, including the punishments I received, gave me a moral view of life that learnt to accept and tolerate all points of view.

Steph. Me stir up a hornet's nest? Those who have caused mayhem and treated August 2011 as an opportunity to celebrate Christmas early did this for us. Whatever political views each individual has, and I have respect for all, what has happened in the last few days must be condemned.

How has this affected my working environment? Attendances at Edmonton Leisure Centre have been less than half in comparison to this time last year. Even having free swimming for under 16s has not been able to entice people to come out of their homes.

Steph,what a load of tosh.

Typical left wing trip blaming the rich. The majority of rich people in this country are rich, not because they are born with a silver spoon in their mouth, but because they have got off their backsides to better themselves.

Many people in deprived areas class themselves as exactly that, deprived.Nothing could be further from the truth, each of us has a chance to change our lives for the better.Everything we do is learnt, every piece of behaviour we take from our elders, the problem for me is that in these deprived areas, they just take what they are given and blame everyone else. Many of these areas are full of immigrants, does this mean the immigrants are stuck there forever,no.Some choose to better themselves, many now live in more affluent areas after bettering themselves.

It's ok to moan about this government but help is there if needed, those that want to be helped and help themselves are helped, those that don't are left in the squallor and blame everyone else.

I have lived on a council estate, was brought up on one,did my parents feel sorry for themselves, claim benefit??? No,they got off their arses and got out of there.30 years later they live in the suburbs and their children have kids of their own, university educated (my sister anyway) and the other who runs their own business. But all you seem to get nowadays from areas like tottenham are how bad things are, perhaps if people cared more about their communities, stood up against the local gangsters and wannabe gangsters they may find them not too bad places to live.Wouldn't mind betting that many of the local people who live around tottenham,Croydon,Brixton etc etc know the rioters & looters but won't dare grass them up because they simply don't want to work with the police, yet another problem
