[GD The Fall Guy]

I appreciate that it was a big day for Guernsey yesterday and a historic on for the CCL but I'm a little bit bored and tired of hearing about it......and it's only after 1 game!!

 

There is no doubt that GFC are going to be the team to beat this season in Div 1, they clearly have a good team/players and are financially secure (unlike may other CCL clubs) but far too many of their posters have such a poor attitude it's amazing. I am shocked at just how much disrespect they are showing our clubs, league and officers.....they are quickly making a lot of enemies which their derogatory comments and ridiculous posts. If it wasn't for this league and it's member clubs GFC would still be left searching for a home on the mainland and the mighty GFC would probably never exist. But the vote when in favour as I think the majority of clubs see this as a great opportunity and another piece of CCL history, so Guernsey posters please bear this in mind when you start slating all and sundry.

 

Anyway, I'd like to hear more about other games from yesterday and what people think about performances and results, etc. I myself was at Sandhurst who I thought looked very strong and may surprise one or two teams this year if they continue playing like that. Missed the end if the game though so can't comment on what went on unfortunately.......when will I ever learn to stay right to the end.....?

 

Wins for camberley, guildford and badshot lea.......no win for Windsor......let's hear some more stories on these games. And what about Div 1? 3 pts for Eversley (my tip to challenge who know who), Hartley and Bedfont Sports......how much should we be reading into these opening day results????

 

Let's just hear some more stories without the mention of our friends from across the waters - would be a shame if we have to do this on a weekly basis!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Think you are way over the top on this chubster,it does seem as if the green eyed monster is alive and kicking in the ccl.The fact of the matter is that one guernsey poster has annoyed a few of you and while I do understand why as his comments are over the top,I can't really blame him after reading some of the anti guernsey stuff on here recently.

As for guernsey being the centre of attention,if this is what people are talking about then it's obviously because It's a popular subject,you may just have to get used to it for a couple of seasons until they get into the ryman

 

I think you have hit the nail on the head Eastside Urchin.

 

Its only one Guernsey poster ( Guernsey Guru ) who has been very cocky. But to be fair there has been lots of anti Guernsey stuff said even before a ball was kicked. So in a way I understand why he is angry and upset.

 

I haven't liked many of the anti Guernsey comments but I've held myself back from responding because I don't want to get involved with negative stuff and get personal.

 

As Eastside has said we are going to be the centre of attention and we are going to be the team everyone wants to beat. I understand that everyone wants to beat us as we have the money and the great stadium etc. But lets keep the rivalries down to good fun banter rather than personal comments.

 

It does seem at times Guernsey posters can't make a simple comment without getting their head bitten off and I don't know why everyone hates us because of 1 forum member ! its ludicrous ! Give us a break guys !

 

 

 

I for one don't hate Guernsey. Before a ball is kicked, I recall all the bad things being said by certain posters about Guernsey unfairly may I add, so rightly Guernsey have fought back and now those posters don't like some of the treatment which they originally dished out. Give it but can't take it.......not good remedy. I think had certain posters been polite and positive about Guernsey, I believe we would not receive such a backlash from them, so hats off you Guernsey. Just because they have a bit of backing (as did AFC with their support). Guernsey are a breath of fresh air, why ?,,,,because their topic/s have the most hits...simples ! People want to talk about Guernsey, they won't admit it but they are really intrigued and rightly so.

 

I have to remind all that it was the other CCL member clubs who granted Guernsey to join the CCL. In addition, the CCL commitee were brave enough to attract them to the CCL so by way of this, it has given the CCL massive coverage in local and national media, so in my eyes very clever, 'cos I am sure in that world out there, who had actually heard of the CCL.... master stroke !

 

Deep inside, and clubs won't admit it, but other CCL clubs are jealous of what Guernsey has, and only wish they could be the same. I now await some crititism but before you do, just be honest with yourselves.before you comment.

 

Comments read reveal that Guernsey play good football which is a joy to hear. I will be going to Hartley, being excited to watch how they play and what players they have on show....... could be a very interesting and busy evening for me.

 

1 game seen, 1 player noticed....Ryan O'Toole at Windsor, I will be surprised if Windsor keep him this season......
