Hanworth Villa.

I was reading the Middlesex County League wiki the other day and saw this list of former members who had moved up the pyramid:

. Former members to progress through the pyramid include Brook House, Hanworth Villa, CB Hounslow United, Rayners Lane, North Greenford United, Sutton Common Rovers, South Kilburn, Sport London e Benfica, Neasden Foundation, Bethnal Green United, Bedfont Sports and Hayes Gate.

OK, so ignoring Hayes Fates and a few others I've never heard of, it does show that it's a good league to move up from what with two recent champions of the Premiership and other sides like HV looking very strong. What are the chances of HV being champions this year?

JB has trained and played a number of PSF's with us this year, and your right you can get a good tune out of an old fiddle. JB picked up an injury couple of weeks ago not seen him since.

My all time favourite player to wear our shirt and even at 39 will dominate matches at this level as he did a few last season. I understand he's on holiday at the moment.

If JB Bates is Jon-Barrie Bates then it does not surprise me he is good at CCL level (no disrespect)

He was seen as a bit like Lawrie Sanchez at Wimbledon |(JBB at AFCW) in that he had many people who thought he was rubbish (mainly those that didn't really understandall the necessary roles ina good team) and a few that saw he did a lot of the hard work to allow the rest of the team to shine.

I could well imagine he is a decent player at 39 at this level...he would add a lot more than a 19 yo in the same role.

First visit to Hanwort yesterday, and I have to agree with Smudge and others. A very friendly and hospitable club, and very good team. They will certainly be one to keep an eye on this season.

As for the Trams, new manager, new-ish team, although not quite as many debutants as I was anticipating. There were a number of positives, although the defending wasn't one of them! Fought heard throughout, and played some nice football. Could do with playing more of the football in the oppositions half, rather than our own. Not down-hearted. We'll get better, and we won't play many better sides than HV this season.

Best wishes to the reserve player that was crocked yesterday
