Our goal was from an own goal

the most exciting thing in this game was watching mark west leaping about his technical area appealing to the ref for everything.

Positives were:

 

Steve Smith in goal

 

Woozley and NBH had solid games

 

Sonner and Burnell looked lively when they came on.

 

 

 

Main negative was that playing 3 centre backs didn't work with most of Thame's good work coming down our exposed right back position which eventually led to their goal. We looked much more comfortable when Ben Sturgess came on and we switched to a flat back 4.

I was a bit disappointed that playing a back 3 didn't result in the wide men getting forward more, especially Danny Murphy. A worthwhile experiment though. I think having Mpi, Abbey, Sonner and Burnell gives us real different alternatives up front which is good.

 

I thought the funniest moment was after their number 9 was acidentally caught by a Woozely elbow and was rolling around on the floor as if he'd been shot then when he realised he wasn't going to get anything from the ref he miraculously recovered and leapt to his feet to remonstrate with Wooz!

 

Nice new complex Thame have got themselves there.
