Smudge, didn't you say a while back something along the lines of that Knaphill are a well run outfit (true) and that going over on the Friday meant they had more time to prepare for the game etc, so that the travelling wouldn't have any effect on them?

Now, after the event (and the result!), you say that was the wrong option in your opinion.....make your mind up mate!

I did indeed say that Jurgs, but swimming, jacuzzi, sauna's on matchdays,is probably the worst preparation any player could take.I Did also say before Guernsey were elected to the League that C.C.L. Clubs voting Guernsey into the League was like Turkeys voting for Christmas, also raised queries about Parking at Horley overnight that has been addressed I think, by 8 parking bays being made available at The Hillton ,Gatwick. Also the only poster on here that has been too 2 Guernsey games over here at Horley F.C. and Coulsdon Town to watch what they are about.Nice people they are too,Organized,Friendly AND A GREAT BUNCH.Promoted every game they have played on here also,The C.C.L. Official Site has done next to nothing in promoting Guernsey or the C.C.L.But as is expected by me turn out in force at Horley, and probably Guernsey, when in 2 Seasons I have only seen 1 Committee Member at a game,Chris Conlon at Camberley 14 months ago.Yes I have moaned about the way their Fixtures have been allocated,no games at Christmas etc,8 out of their last 10 games being at home, the League have bent over backwards to accomodate their every wish, not Guernsey F.C.'S FAULT.But it does not really matter what I say ,as in some peoples eyes I am just stirring it.But in my defence when I first came on this site it was dying a death,it is now thriving thanks to you the posters for repeatedly coming back for more.18 new posters in the last week alone, more Gold Members than any other Forum on here.COME ON GUERNSEY.

Nah, not really. I remember how busy the CCL forum here was long before I ever saw you on here Peter. It's just different people and slightly different subjects. Then it was all TSF and BigJR going on about Dorking fighting the council. Seemed to be all anyone would talk about. Plus ca change.

Smudge how is having a Jacuzzi and a sauna the worst preparation any player can take? A Jacuzzi is definitely one of those hot baths that relaxes and massages your muscles right? And a sauna in one of those hot wooden rooms in which you sweat all the crap out your body and feel refreshed? Or am i mad?

In regards to the way we did things. I wanted to go on the Saturday morning but that was mainly because i wanted to go on the lash afterwards and come home Sunday. Plus we wouldn’t have to take time off work. However in all fairness to the managers, in regards to match preparation I think they did it the correct way as we were all in bed nice and early, had a good night sleep and felt refreshed in the morning rather then getting up at the crack of dawn to get to Gatwick. However no matter how we prepared, Guernsey were just that much better than us so it turns out it made no difference!

smudge, you do indeed talk complete garbage. Why should the clubs not vote for Guernsey, for one season (it looks like),they will be in the league,no doubt raising attendances everywhere, giving clubs more money, more exposure, knaphill even got a mention on soccer saturday.Nothing wrong with knaphills preparation,as the above poster has said.As for the fixtures, yes they may look a bit guernsey friendly but they are also friendly to alot of other sides so not to cause too much problems at xmas etc.

So sauna and jacuzzi it is then,oh not forgetting the early night. All C.C.L. Teams should try this, rather than having a lie in after a night on the lash, spending hours getting to theArena, taking time off work, and not even a night on the lash, after you get beat.Sounds great to me.Where do I JOIN UP.

If teams are going there for a lash up then thats what they should do. However we went there to try and win a football match mate.

In the guernsey press the knaphill manager and chairman were very complimentary about GFC. They both said they expected GFC to walk the league and thought they were a Ryman league side.

Think it was a Wedding,or similar event that is hard for people to get out of.Family life does come before Football after all.

Correct Smudge...having been booked-up for circa 6 months, it was difficult one to manage with the family! I was gutted to have missed the trip and the occasion as you can imagine! However, having spoken to 4 or 5 of the lads since Saturday evening, It's obvious that 1 or 2 different players would have made no difference to the outcome.

Guenrsey's success this season is going to come down to how well they travel, particually mid-week, and how they deal with some of the more "interesting" pitches in the league! Still, none of the lads can see them dropping many points based on Saturday's performance.
