Grovel,grovel,oh High One! LOL!

Hope our views haven't ruined your holiday too much. We really do want YOU to succeed but do have concerns about the missing players and our missing management !

I'm glad you take an interest in what we fans think,Steve. It can't be easy reading for you,at times. All of us on here, just want Slough Town FC to be successful, and of course, we all consider ourselves football guru's who know what we're talking about, even though, at times we talk out of our backsides, myself included ! ha ha ! However, there is a lot of worthwhile truth on this forum, too.

Sorry I've butted in on your request. Maybe I'm out of line saying this [to what other supporters want ] but I'm not sure, singling out Cookham Rebel is the way forward, though.Unless there is some personal issue between you two. Wouldn't it be better to have an open dialogue with all the supporters at sometime in a get together way, maybe every three or four months.Or have a feature in the programme ,where a supporter, gets to put his honest questions to you or a member of your management team or even a player. This way pre-empts confrontation and silly arguments and leads to a better productive solution to everybody's concerns.

After all we all want what's best for Slough Town FC. Don't we?

..or why dont you go and have a chat with Steve Bateman after the game (as I sometimes do). You will find him very approachable.

I don't go in the clubhouse and don't know Steve Bateman plus I wouldn't want to bother him.

So you would rather post drivel on here than speak to him face to face. That says it all.

That's your opinion that it's drivel. I haven't seen many positives spouted from your writings,Windsor Rebel. In fact, most of the time you write poisonous little quips and have a go at fellow fans with no justification.

If that's how you want to be,you are entitled,as I am me,to have my views.

If Steve Bateman asks me to meet up with him face to face then I would. I'm not like you,Windsor Rebel,in wanting to be a sycophant. I prefer to be honest.

Yeah honest enough to hide behind a keyboard and criticise. A true fan (not).

Blah, blah, blah. Isn't that what you're doing? Judging me whether I'm a true fan. Who do you think you are? How do I know you are a true fan?

If you want to meet up with me face to face, I'd be happy to.

We could make it first home game of the season if you like. Then perhaps you won't judge me so harshly. I've nothing to hide.

I think he has singled out CR because he has the most to say, I also think you and Nathan should join CR and go and meet Steve and hopefully it will stop a lot of this backside talk, your words not mine.

I think its a sad day when the manager of our football club feels he has to post like this, hopefully Steve realises that its the same old ones on here all the time and they dont speak for all of us.

I will be in the bar at Beaconsfield from 2 PM onwards. See you there. Would rather talk football face to face, if thats OK with you?

I don't go drinking at games. I usually get to matches between 2.30 and 2.45. We could meet at half-time if you like. I'll send a pm to you,to arrange where we could meet.

Sue, are you suggesting that if we have critical opinions, then we should only air them face-to-face and not on this forum? That the people shouldn't listen to anything anybody says on the forum because it's not said face-to-face? Is that what you're saying? And just what are you refering to when you talk about "backside talk"?

If the team were to get going on the pitch and start challenging (and doing themselves justice if truth be told!), then the professionalism and quality of the team and management would shine through and anyone who criticises for the sake of it will be shamed into silence (either that or risk being ridiculed). It might even turn some of the criticism into praise!

No Nathan I just think thats as there is a lot ot criticism regarding Steve Bateman then take up his offer and go and see him face to face, listen to what he has to say and maybe just maybe you might be able to see things from his point that is all

And as i said in my post 3 Spirit mentioned backside talk not me.

Not all of us are connected as close to the club and management as you are Sue. I think this whole sorry saga has been blown into a mountain from a molehill. If people are so bloody sensitive to people's honest opinions. Then don't come on this forum.

Nothing on here is any more shocking than the opinions/criticisms shouted at the games and in the forum's case they are far more politier. So I really can't see why people are getting so hot and bothered. Football fans across the country offer opinions about their teams every week, What's so wrong with offering it here?

As for Steve Bateman,he's no different to any other manager from the Premier League down, all fans moan and groan about manager's decisions. I think he should count himself lucky,as I would say we all want him to be successful, as he comes across as a likeable, easygoing, amiable type of bloke.

In our first Conference year, Alan Davis[our manager] got terrible abuse at the matches for some of his decisions. This sort of thing was the unacceptable behaviour of football fans.

I thought a fans forum was a good idea for the frustrated supporter but it seems that on this forum,we mustn't say anything to close to the mark,in case we upset someone. As usual in seems that if you're in the Slough Town FC clique, you're allowed to voice your opinion but if you're not in the loop, you mustn't rock the boat.

I think Sue,it will be a sadder day when Steve Bateman won't respond to his critics and that a Slough supporter isn't allowed to say what is on his mind.

Woah it really is silly season all around! I tend to just read the forum rather than post much but all this bickering backwards and forwards got me thinking, I got involved watching Slough Town because of the family feel of the club, you could go in the bar after the game, chat to the players, management even the referee if you wanted! there was banter on the terraces, all of this is what made is stand out from the first division or the premier league now, as it was back then! I guess we lost that togetherness somewhat when we left Wexham Park. I now work at a venue where all the FA run their UEFA Pro licence training courses and have spoken to Ryan Williams, he said he joined the club from Crystal Palace due to the friendly family feel to the club as sold to him by Steve Browne at the time, same thing from Matt Murray who played a couple of games for us in goal on loan. Also present was Super Brian McDermott who I spoke with briefly who built a great team at slough but again, the football in the community links all of which meant he was around and approachable.

What I am trying to put across is us as supporters have a big part to play, in not only generating a decent atmosphere which will encourage new supporters to come along, but also it does go to show that a good atmosphere, a good family friendly club will help attract players too. Hopefully with the new ground we can get back to those days. However who is going to want to come to a club where fans are arguing amongst themselves on here, and now the players and management are coming on here having to defend themselves. Cookham, when you came on the forum initially you had some pretty good points on here and mostly were constructive. What we have to remember is we are a non league club, the players have other jobs too, i know for a fact another manager from our league has been on holiday at almost the same time as our manager, this isnt the premier league, the players are as much entitled to holidays as you and I are, I would much rather they took their holidays now rather than at the business end of the season. Ps incase anyone asks I did ask all 3 of they have any young decent players they want to send out on loan to send them to Slough! Ryan Williams is now in charge of the acadamy at Reading Football Club!

Steve Bateman-- I found your contribution to the forum this morning( only the third youve bothered to make since you became Slough manager) more than just a bit arrogant. Everyone's time is valuable, not just yours and to offer as little as 10 minutes to discuss the many issues doesnt show a real interest. I also read that you dont ever want your professionlism or commitment questioned well Im afraid you will be unlucky there if this season brings more of the clueless classless displays we suffered through last season and your teams continue to be so unfit and lacking in stamina. I think you need to stop living in the past Its true you had some limited success years ago but your job now is to win something for Slough Town Im a great believer in the old biblical saying " By their fruits ye shall know them" It doesnt matter what you say or what you promise or what you claim or how high you pile the bullshit you will be judged by your results. If you do start getting it right this coming season you will have my full support and encouragement but I wont hesitate to comment when I feel things are wrong and wont be disuaded by the Bateman groupies on the forum.
