Paul Sturrock's excuse as to why his side couldn't score this afternoon...

 

"The grass was too long"

 

Not the fact that both defences had to be [censored] hot and soak up a load of pressure.

Or that with more accurate finishing there would've been a couple of goals for either side.

Or that their midfield was crap and Gameo had N'Diaye in his pocket all afternoon.

 

Typically fitness shone through towards the end and Southend had the greater chance of nicking a goal in the final ten minutes, but on the whole today's performance was another encouraging one from our players who more than held their own.

 

Our apologies to Echo Sport for not laying down and letting The Blues steamroller us, if they can describe that game as dull and lacklustre.

 

Another pink and blue kit to come up against in Dulwich Hamlet, Tuesday evening.

Dissapointing comments from Paul Sturrock. Would be nice if he could admit that we played well and deserved a draw rather than make pathetic excuses.

 

Sounded like we playedwell. Encouraging pre season so far.
