Erith v Margate updates

Word I've got from the ground is that Erith hit a post from a free-kick but they haven't made our keeper make a save otherwise.

Similarly at the other end their keeper hasn't had too many saves to make either mainly because countless efforts on goal by our lads haven't been findng the target with most efforts having gone wide or over the bar. (My informant reckons the players have been paid NOT to score (wink wink l.o.l.) )

We seem to be creating all the chances & are on top but the players need their shooting boots on in the second half.If they do that then we could be looking at another good win again away from home.

Or will we rue these missed chances? Whoops, just heard we are a goal down on 46mins.

A bit of a cliche/excuse-but you learn more in defeat than you do by winning.

That given-with the 'quality of our players '- still should not be losing to erith .

i simply hope that Richard Avery did well enough to earn himself a contract-and that we got through the game injury free.

Adam Marsh? -youth/reserve team player-or trialist ? ( i think he featured v welling ?)

Can't see WW hanging around if he ain't playing, too much quality wasted IMO

Cmon peeps did we lose terribly and did we have our arses handed to us as a wooden spoon prize..... no - as regards WW he is possibly one of the most influential players for MFC in the last few years and as such does not need to prove himself to CK and therefore maybe sidelined ready for the forthcoming season which is gonna be a tough one. Fellas we as a team are looking extremely confident and capable of upper mid-table if not playoffs so on mishap pre-season aint a biggy is it :P

Random observations from today.

4-3-3 and we played well first half. Had plenty of chances but took none. LeBerl was doing all the talking in the dug-out and he was always constructive, rather than the "kick the [****!!****]" ravings you usually hear in non-league. Bodkin's first touch is the best you'll see at this level. Friend played left-back first half with Curtis taking that position after the break with Friend moving inside. Second half was very 'meh' and one goal was enough for Erith who I'm sure will do very well this season (beat Bromley 4-2 last week). Nice piece on Bob Harrop in the programme.
