FT 3-3

We were 3-1 but let some bad goals in nevertheless get them out now full attention on Sheerwater now.

Farnham res 3-2 yateley green Farnham 2-4 old farbronians

What sort of strength are Old Farnbronians? Is this a result we should just ignore? We beat Met Police 2-1 today. Apparently we played very well. I could not attend so I'm relying on reports from the Egham management. We have had friendlies against Hillingdon Borough and lost 1-3, then 3-3 at Chertsey, 2-2 at home to Ashford Mx., 1-1 at home to Uxbridge and today's win. This is the best pre-season I have ever known so I pray it doesn't all go tits up from Saturday.

Hi nah not making excuses we had a very tough game last night, and everyone was tired, taking nothing away from them, they had 3 really good forward players.

Last night we played wantage (won the Hellenic prem last year) could of possibly done without today's game really, yes that's the entrance to the clubhouse end other entrance is of the roundabout a little further up for changing rooms etc

Who did you play last night? Sorry if you have already posted this. Is yours the ground off a high street and down an alley? I know I have been there before, when we prevailed in the Surrey Senior but lost a forward to a career ending injury (not the fault of FTFC, I would add).

Dorking 1st team 2 arundal 2.

Dorking playing very well in the second half to make it 2-2

Two goals through Billy Ramsey and a third disallowed from Craig duffel which was not offside

Incorrect. Goal was offside otherwise it would have been 3-2 ;)

Final: Alan Wilson Memorial Trophy.

Dorking FC 0 - 1 Bookham FC.

Bookham scored on 86 minutes, THEN missed a penalty a minute from time. Not bad, considering Buckers took the cream to Arundel, and our team composed mostly of our Under 18's.

DORKING FC.

SQUAD:- Henry Warne (GK) : Dan Davis: Jamie Irwin (Cpt): Jamie David: Josh Clarke: James Baker: Daryl Jeeves: Tom Coffey: Alex Monks: Martin Waldren: Harry Maneh.

SUBS:- Will Renton-Rose: Connor Torrisi: Calum Worsfold: Isacc Philpott.

Cove 2 Woking Res 1 highly entertaining game with our team starting to take shape very good 90 minutes for most of our first team apart from Steve Brown who came off with what looked like a bruised foot, have since found out his foot was broken and he will be out for at least 6 weeks.Absolutely scorching day and the weight loss for everybody playing has come at the right time loads of fluid taken on board after the game,Woking were mainly under 19 youths so were very fit and agile this gave us the runaround we were hoping for,our goals were from a Gareth (i've retired ) Rapley worldy and one of our very good 17 year olds Harry Roberts

ARUNDEL v DORKING FC.

Dorking's first team squad travelled to Arundel on Saturday on a blistering hot day down on the south coast, manager Pete Buckland deciding to send down more or less a first team leaving a Dorking XI team mixed with Under 18s and some first teamers to take on Bookham in the final of the Dave Wilson Trophy on the same day

That Dorking came close to beating what is a strong Sussex County Division 1 side while the Dorking XI almost held Bookham's first team on the same day shows the increasing strength in depth in Chicks first team and Under 18 squads. Whatsmore, the game built on the impressive game versus Molesey in midweek when Dorking matched their strong Surrey neighbours in the Dave Wilson trophy to set up the final versus Bookham.

Arundel FC has to be one of the best settings in British football, the castle overshadowing the ground, and Buckland's men were inspired by their surroundings to produce another good day at the office as they continue their good pre-season build up.

Buckland made changes a plenty in the first half starting 11, and finding Dorking 2-0 down at half time, the management made not just changes in personel, but also tactical changes, which saw Dorking revert to a more tried and trusted formation.

Dorking soon took control of the second half, Billy Ramsey pulling one back on 60mins and then getting another on 76mins, as Ramsey won the Dorking player of the match award in style.

Dorking then camped in the Arundel half and had, what seemed a perfectly good winning goal from the influential Craig Duffell chalked off, a decision which perplexed most in the ground. . Despite victory being denied Dorking, this was still a very good work out, played in very hot conditions and finishing at 2-2. every player can hold their head high in a good, overall team performance.

Chicks first team continue to remain unbeaten in preseason and look forward to Tuesday night's (2 August) home friendly against another Sussex county side Southwick. Then the season proper begins on Saturday with a league game at Raynes Park Vale before two home league games versus Cove (Tuesday 9 August) and newly promoted Farnham Town on Saturday 13 August.

Team to follow

DORKING FC v BOOKHAM.

A goal in the dying embers of this game was harsh on a Dorking XI which had matched their more experienced opponents step for step in the final of the Dave Wilson Trophy at Meadowbank on Saturday, a match played at the same time as the Dorking first team squad took on Arundel. Bookham scored from a scramble with only 3 minutes to go, after a largely even game over the 90 minutes.

The first 15 minuets of this game played on a fine afternoon were pretty even with both sides testing each other out. Some Bookham 1st team players were missing, so both sides needed to settle, though probably Bookham showing a slight upper edge as was to be expected given the gulf in experience, the bulk of the Dorking team being made up from Simon Coffey's Dorking U18 side. It took the Dorking defence about 20 minutes to settle and get the measure of Bookham's fast forwards but from 20 minutes until the end of the 1st half, Dorking started to gel together and most of the play seemed to be around or near the Bookham goal-mouth.

Both sides had a couple of chances of scoring but failed to capitalise. 16 year old Dorking keeper Henry Warne had been showing no fear or inexperience in the Dorking goal, commanding his defenders well and making some spirited saves.

Bookham started the 2nd half with more speed and fast one-touch passing in the first 10 minuets, which caused Dorking mid-field and defence some problems, especially out on the left. Warne made a good save on 52 minutes. On 60 minutes, Dorking made a good break almost into the penalty box, and was driven hard at the goal. The Bookham keeper just managed to tip the ball over the bar. Just 3 minutes later, the play was reversed and Dorking defence found themselves under the cosh, but were saved by a brilliant save by Henry Warne in goal from a hard shot coming in from the left hand side, just outside the box. As the game progressed, Bookham seemed to be taking a firm control of the mid-field to get the ball forward quickly, though Dorking defence made some good firm tackles. On 86 minutes, the deadlock was broken when Bookham managed to get the ball into the net after a goal-mouth scramble, 3 minutes later, Bookham were awarded a penalty, but put the ball over the bar. 1-0 to Bookham at full-time.

Dorking have no reason to feel disheartened by the defeat. They played extremely well, given that the majority of the squad came from the Dorking Under 18's.

I just don't know how I managed to keep dashing between Arundel and Meadowbank.

No - In truth, the DFC - Bookham one is mine. It was a good chance for me to stay local and see the majority of the younger members perform.
