Slough 1-1 Welling

A good match to watch, with the whole team being committed.Shame about the ref who missed innumerable shoves, elbows and pulls on Miller---mainly by the Welling number 7 who found him too much of a handful. Good to see Boot working hard again. As for Welling, well they won't win any friends playing as they do, many of their tackles were as late as their coach. Its sad when the team from the higher league rely on fouling rather than skill.

It seems the team from the higher division are better because they can identify the danger man and take him out accordingly.

The game totally turned once Boot was scythed down.

We will have nothing to be scared of at Park View Road though.

In my opinion, it was our best performance of the season. It is such a shame that it was spoilt by a ref who dosen't have a brain cell to work with, loads of shoves and tackles that were as late as the ref's decisions. God help us if we do have the same ref on tuesday, we will have to build on todays performance by then if we are going to win (or we can just sit back and hope that Welling play as badly as they had played today, but what is that supposed to achieve?).

Hope you lot give the ref loads of stick, he was awful today, get behind the team and hope that they play well.

We play at Park View Road which is our ground, but Erith & B ground share with us. You would probaly not reconise it from our conference days as we have had a new stand built on the cricket ground side... it's a 1200 seater stadium now, plus a lot of other development. Hope to see a good number of you make the trip down on Tuesday, have a safe journey.

Reports leading up to this game made out that the REBELS would struggle, this was certainly not the case we played some good football and should of made the most of the chances that came our way.

The ref was crap and by not booking there player for a cynical foul on Howard in the first half, was then not able to use his book their after and so lost total control of the game.

Felt sorry for Steve Daly was superb at the back apart from their goal as defence went walkies after dodgy free kick was given. <img src="/images/graemlins/affig.gif" alt="" />

Welling will be alot harder to beat on their patch, will Booty be fit need him to have any chance.

Frustrated and disapointed is what i felt at the end. So close to going through, and although we can blame the ref for not allowing a foul on Howard, the fact is we should have had the game finished off long before then. But looking back, we did play well, especially the first half. I felt it started to go against us when Boot got injured. We looked tired and Welling came more into the game. The replay should hold no fears if we can play as we did in the 1st half for the whole game. Shame if its true that Boot is out for 3 weeks, as its true we have no strength in depth. A good 1st 11 but looking at our subs, theres nothing there that will add to the team is there?

Looking forward to Tuesday, just hope alot of Rebels can make it to Welling.
