What did you think of the game bomaya

Very interesting. Second time I've seen South Park in pre-season and I really like their style of play. Lots of quick young players who like the ball at their feet and like to take players on. My only worry would be have they got the nasty side in their game? They had a big lad up top tonight and yet the only aggression he showed was in a bit of handbags in the 2nd half. With his size he should've been putting himself about a lot more, like Oakwood's forward did for their goal by shoulder-barging Wazza over the line!

Several funny moments in the first half. Forty seconds in and ex-Merstham Ressie/Three Bridges keeper Scott Kenward handballs for Oakwood outside the area. Cue Molly11 shouting "That's disgusting - he's got to go for that!"

South Park's first goal was also pretty amusing - a right side cross spun into the air in the 6 yard box and one of the Oakwood CBs with no pressure on at all bizarrely headed straight into his own net.

The winner was a dainty chip from Dale (?) over the on-rushing keeper.

Forum-wise I though Scott looked really good on the right wing - but where is David Smith? Molly had a decent game, not sure if wants to be playing left back but it sounds like needs must.

Hard to judge Oakwood but I wouldn't have said there's much between them and Dorking Wanderers, not sure if that's good or bad.

Agree with all that Bom, about our side. Dave Smith will be with us Saturday im told, unfortunately he has a young family and his gf has got a part time job in a pub Tues, Thurs and Sat so has been unavailable. It looks like he maybe used as a striker though as Chris Smith cant walk at the moment!! Not good

Was that who came off early doors? David can certainly play upfront, he has the skills, speed and eye for goal, just needs the confidence and indeed arrogance you need as a forward.

Yeah, the boy knows where the net is 4 in pre season already to add to his 44 last year. Will be missed but we have a stronger squad this year, but could do without injuries in pre season, left back broke his foot on Sat thats why i was filling in this evening.

Does anyone have any news on the Warlingham player that had to leave in the ambulance? Warlingham looked very very good against Ryman league opposition. Completely dominated them for most of the game. Match report and a few pics on my blog later.

Mewcenary on the line had a good game ! am told he should have given our visitors a penalty though when an offence was deemed outside the box !

Cheers Nigel. The referee gave that one (including it being outside the area) and did not look for my assistance. He didn't need to as the contact was distinctly outside of the penalty area, so happy days!

Warlingham 3 v 0 Croydon Athletic, firstly Gilesy glad to hear that you are o.k.,lets hope that the injuries are not as bad as they looked,on the night.

The match,a decent game played on an excellent surface with both sides playing Football on the floor. Many players used by both sides, the scoreline does not tell the whole story though.Diaz put the Wars 1 up with a deflected shot before the break, second half a needless foul by the Athletic L/B.in the corner, resulting in an excellent cross that was headed home majestically by Jack Higgins who rose high into a the sky, leaving the 6'7' Athletic keeper rooted to the spot. The third was a run straight down the middle by a player unknown to me,he could of passed he didn't,he could of rounded the keeper he didn't,he tried to lob the keeper he didn't,he had a header when he tried to lob the keeper, but didn't score then, but evenytually the ball ended up in the net.Athletic missed a Penalty(L/B took it) ,well saved by ex Whyteleafe stopper Gavin Dilley, who then had a purple patch of 4 high class saves in 5 minutes, nothing was getting past him on the night, for sure.Whilst the keeper at the other end had nothing to do bar pick the ball out of the net.Nice to see Danny Mac back playing again,Warlingham on this performance TOP 3.

WATCHED egham v uxbridge. 1-1 it was a good pre season game. egham had paul borg in goal as well as dale marvel, also a second half sub was scott todd. who i thought it had been annouced had signed for ashford town.

Wasn't aware of a new rule allowing 2 players to be in goal at the same time  dance%20(2).gif
