Andover Town fold and resign from EvoStik Southern League

Having made the post about Dawlish Town, I did not expect to make another so quick

 

Andover Town have now folded as well

 

This is the statement on their website this morning.

 

The Board of Directors on behalf of the shareholders at Andover FC regret that due to continuing financial restraints they have been forced with immediate effect to dissolve Andover Football Club Ltd.

After much deliberation the decision was made as it was agreed that the cost of staging Southern League Football was no longer viable.Therefore resignations have been tendered to the Evo Stik Southern League, the Wyvern League and also to the FA and Hampshire and North Hants FA's

 

Professional advice will now be sort as to the recommended course of action regarding administration, debtors etc..

It is hoped that in the near future Andover FC can be resurrected to play at a more appropriate level to continue the clubs name which has been synonymous with the town since 1883.
