MFC vs Burgess Hill Town

Finished 8-0. Scorers (in no particular order) - Appiah (2), Bradbrook, Pooley, Coleman, Stone, Whyte and possibly Burchall. It was hard to keep track!

Squad played great today..although Burgess were poor..

Stand out performers for me...

1st Half Dean Pooley, Matt Bodkin, Kwesi Appiam

2nd Half: Tom Bradbrook, James Whyte and Arron Quain

But to be fair no one had a bad game really.

Very confident team performance with little selfishness on the ball. Burgess had a go but were never really at the races. Not a lot of negatives. Some good partnerships in the squad. Liked second half by left wing forward (Appiah?). No fanciness needed on the ball today. Nice to see an effective passing game, rather than hoofing it along the wings.

Agreed about passing game..I dont remember hardly any long ball hoofing..was very encouraging

Yes only took 15 minutes for you, terry and the ladies from the burger bar to put your tongues back in your mouths and to stop dribbling before I got the cup of tea I asked for!!!!!

Very impressive display today. Wondered what happened to Dean Hill. I thought he was due on in second half but didn't appear. Is he injured?

Yes - a slight knock carried over from last season.

Similarly impressed.

You can only beat whats in front of you,but B Hill were very very young.

Boys v Men

For me-Pooley class act

(and quite fast )

I thought Appiam worked his socks off-never seen such work rate (also though Bradbrook also worked hard )

Appiam will frustrate-and provide good bad and ugly, but overall-was impressed and hope he is signed up.

Think Bradbrook and Appiam would be a great combination, but equally, both could operate as a sole striker if tactics dictated.

The other star man for me was Richard Avery as a defensive midfield player-got some strerngth ,height, presence and kept it simple.

Would like to see Avery signed.

Did just note a couple of through balls did penetrate between Pooley and cloke-so Jake needs to do a small bit of tightening up there-but overall ,don't think there will be too many back 4/5's better than Margates -don't concede the nil !
