Stadium question.

Just looked at the plans. 500 standing added each side to the existing seated stand. The main hotel side looks like it is all seating. It also looks like the old coffin end is a covered stand for 1125.

This stadum is going to be something else, will raise the profile of the club in Kent give the football club a state oft he art facility that the club can take forward to the football league. It will provide greater comfort for supporters. For the first time in years im excited for the club.

I think Keith Piper and Gary Lever should be congratulated and thanked for sticking with it for such a long time.:applaus:

Now lets get this thing built!!!

Please can someone(WELLSIE) remind me is the covered area between the Travelodge & the pitch a seating area or terracing?

Now, at one tme, the Hotel (east) side was going to be all seater and the west side part seating with terracing either side. But I think a switch was being looked at (to make the west side all seater) because of sight lines in the east stand / hotel side. North and south sides will be all terracing. We'll get some clarity over the coming days.

Thanks Steve, I remember there being some mention of change but couldn't find where I'd read it. Look forward to hearing the Official line.

Agreed but most clubs suffer from that at this level

I think its fair to point out the Margates aspirations lie much higher than RPL and good luck to them. They thought up a realistic strategy, stuck with it, and now look like reaping the benefits. IMO what Margate have achieved should act as an inspiration to all ambitious clubs at non league level.

Building new grounds doesn't guarantee success, look at the likes of derby, leicester, arsenal and southampton. What fans of all clubs have to remember is that after a ground has been built a club is naturally short of money, fans can lose interest after a couple of seasons of mid table security, clubs will only start to flourish if the fans stick with the club

Come on Rob, sour grapes is not your style and just like me your as jealous as hell that we wont be watching our respective teams play in such a beautiful stadium.

Alan, don't accuse me of sour grapes,I have nothing but admiration for Margate but only a fool would go into such a project thinking that you only have to build a new stadium and you are suddenly a completely different side, and the people at Margate are not fools
