Stadium development gets green light from Council planners

The resumption of the archaeological investigation is designed to cover the areas of the site that were left unexplored when the original works were carried out, and needed to comply with the planning conditions imposed when consent was granted. The work starts on Monday.

Lets hope they find nothing of significance.

Always a concern though as similar to 'solicitors' these guys have a habit of 'finding something to report' and thus justify their fees.

 

That given-will feel more comfortable when the club provide a positive update on the lease progress (third tick) and that the small matter of £2m additional funding has been secured (fourth tick ) .

 

I still reckon it will 'happen' though; (and one assumes-dangerous to assume) that the archaelogists work would not commence unless the other ducks were almost all in a row ; but will stick to my ground development prediction league position that the stadium build itself willl commence in january 2012.

tom i like your enthusiasum, from my building experience, this element is a long and pain staking process... just look at what happened to the new road being built at minster/manston god knows what they found there... but is part of the overall process and is standard. I would hazard a guess that nothing of historical significance would be found here, given this is a public park ((is not a random piece of land that hasnt been build on before - old stadium was already there)) and at the same time foundations adjacent to the dig will likely commence. Micheal u speak sense, ur right, shame that some persons will find a crisp packet or stella bottle and try to pass it as ancient... but think the momentum is with the build now and you say January... lets have a friendly wager ill go for February!!

There is a digger and workmen at the ground today and a trench has been dug on the changing room side where the ambulance parks.
