very touchy!! you telling me you played tilburys 1st team.

we had a team of 18/19 year olds they had a team of 17/18 year olds,so no im not telling you that we played their first team, what i am telling you is that every season Basildon United with no wage budget finishes above Bowers with a wage budget so maybe you need to start paying less attention to our results and performances and more to yours cheers.

Len's right. You are touchy! According to Tilury's website it was a team with average age 17 (so presumably some younger). And I notice the rest of your friendlies are against Olympian league clubs, which is about the level of player your new manager knows. The way you've been giving it the big 'un on here with your posts, you obviously think you've got a chance. You have a massive reality check coming you're way and you know what they say? Pride comes before a fall. Well, it's gonna be a big bump when you land!!

I have no affiliation with either of the two basildon sides however really love the banter between you both and if you read the posts you would think you both were these two big successful clubs, fighting for the top. i've just gone through recent season stats and gotta laugh. Your right (Len Salmon) Basildon do seem to have played some what "less taxing" sides but maybe it might be wise to see what happens saturday and against you on wednesday before the mud slinging starts. Basil-don i have to say that with the shambolic way your club has run itself for the past several years, the loyalty and continued smoke and mirrors you and others stand by your side with is very comendable.

Len its a bit rich for you to mock paul larkes olympian levels and lack of senior knowledge when your current manager only had a half decent season at that level and since stepping up to ESL he has achieved nothing but below par finishes which suggests he only has a black book of sub standard players too. Paul may soon be in a position to be mocked but your man already is and there a few signs of this changing.

How many quality managers with proven records of achievment are actually managing in the ESL. Would be interested to see a full list of each current manager in the ESL with all there honours list. Not sure how many winners will be listed. Also how many of them managers have managed at higher level than ESL. rather than just been running teams in ESL without success for several years or more.
